Job Description

Position Overview Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Senior E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) Inspector to lead inspection and certification activities on complex electrical and instrumentation projects within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile construction and modification projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and client specifications. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive inspections and witness testing (FAT/SAT) of electrical power distribution systems across multiple voltage levels (33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV, and 415 V) Inspect switchgear, control gear, distribution boards, UPS systems, earthing, lighting systems, underground cabling, and cathodic protection installations Liaise with EPC Contractors, equipment manufacturers, and client representatives throughout construction, testing, and commissioning phases Interpret and apply EPC Contractor and Vendor design documentation to verify compliance with specifications Oversee instrumentation and control system construction, testing, and commissioning, including DCS modifications and ESD/Fire & Gas system updates Review and approve control room architecture and new package boiler instrumentation systems Prepare detailed technical inspection reports and certification documentation Ensure all work complies with ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO, and BS codes and standards Support both new construction and Brownfield modification projects Required Qualifications Education: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering Certifications (Mandatory): CompEx, ECEx, or ATEX certification (required for hazardous area work) Working knowledge of ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO, and BS codes Experience: Minimum 15+ years in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industries as an inspector Proven experience in construction inspection of new facilities and Brownfield modifications Demonstrated expertise in electrical power distribution systems (33 kV through 415 V) Extensive FAT/SAT (Factory Acceptance Test / Site Acceptance Test) experience with electrical and instrumentation equipment Strong background in DCS systems, ESD/Fire & Gas systems, and instrumentation commissioning Experience coordinating with EPC Contractors, manufacturers, and client stakeholders Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of international standards (ISO, ASME, AWS, API, DNV, BS) Proficiency in interpreting technical design documentation and specifications Knowledge of cathodic protection systems, lighting design, and small power distribution Required Skills: Communication: Excellent spoken and written English; ability to produce clear, professional technical reports Technical Writing: Proficiency in documenting inspection findings, test results, and compliance certifications Computer Literacy: Comfortable with standard office software and technical documentation tools Attention to Detail: Ability to identify non-conformances and ensure strict adherence to codes and standards Project Management: Capable of managing multiple inspection activities and coordinating with diverse stakeholders Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve technical issues and recommend corrective actions Preferred Qualifications Experience with SCADA and advanced control systems Familiarity with offshore or remote project environments Track record of leading inspection teams or mentoring junior inspectors Previous experience with Bureau Veritas or similar certification bodies What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package tailored to experience and location Opportunities to work on prestigious international projects across multiple regions and countries.
