About The Role • Are you passionate about payroll and enjoy solving problems? • We're looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our growing team and provide exceptional payroll support to a diverse range of clients across New Zealand and Australia. • This role goes beyond payroll processing. We're looking for someone who enjoys understanding the "why" behind payroll outcomes, investigating payroll queries, and building trusted relationships with clients. You'll be managing multiple payrolls, balancing competing deadlines, and helping clients navigate payroll matters with confidence. • This role is ideally suited to someone who takes ownership of their work, exercises sound judgement and is naturally curious. Key Responsibilities • Process end-to-end payrolls for multiple New Zealand and Australian clients. • Manage competing payroll deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. • Investigate payroll queries, variances and exceptions, identifying root causes and resolving issues accurately and proactively. • Respond to client support tickets and payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner. • Prepare payroll reports and explain payroll outcomes clearly to clients and stakeholders. • Interpret payroll legislation, employment agreements and payroll data to ensure accurate payroll processing. • Build trusted client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service. • Follow established payroll processes while exercising sound judgement when issues arise. • Collaborate with internal team members and payroll software providers to deliver excellent service for clients. • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and documentation. What You Bring: • Minimum 12 months' experience processing New Zealand or Australian payroll. • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. • Ability to manage multiple payrolls and competing deadlines. • Strong problem-solving, analytical and investigative skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Confidence working independently and taking ownership of your work. • Competency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
