Job Title Estimator – Aluminium Fabrication I. Location Remote (Philippines) Applicants should ideally reside within approximately 3 hours of Metro Manila , as successful candidates will be required to attend face-to-face interviews and occasional in-person meetings. II. Salary ₱40,000–₱50,000 per month III. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Estimator – Aluminium Fabrication to join our growing Australian team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing project drawings, performing quantity take-offs, preparing quotations, and supporting our aluminium fabrication projects from tender through to production. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide variety of residential and commercial architectural aluminium products while collaborating closely with our drafting, purchasing, production and sales teams. IV. Key Responsibilities Review, interpret and assess a wide range of project information provided by clients, including architectural drawings, engineering drawings, specifications, PDF mark-ups, hand-drawn sketches, photographs, concept drawings and other informal documentation. Communicate directly with clients to clarify missing information and develop a complete understanding of the project requirements before preparing quotations. Perform accurate quantity take-offs for aluminium fabrication projects, including architectural aluminium systems, balustrades, fencing, gates, privacy screens, window shrouds, glazing systems and other custom aluminium products. Prepare detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring all aluminium extrusions, glass, hardware, fixings and accessories required for fabrication are accurately identified and quantified. Prepare accurate customer quotations by estimating material, labour, subcontractor and supplier costs while ensuring competitive pricing and targeted profit margins. Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing for aluminium extrusions, glass, hardware, powder coating, freight and other project-specific requirements. Identify opportunities to optimise material usage, improve fabrication efficiency and reduce waste while maintaining product quality and compliance with project requirements. Identify discrepancies, omissions or potential design issues within project information and work closely with clients and the internal team to resolve them before quotations are finalised. Work collaboratively with the drafting, purchasing, production and sales teams to ensure estimates are practical, commercially competitive and capable of being manufactured efficiently. Maintain accurate estimating records, quotations, Bills of Materials and project documentation within the company's estimating and business management systems. Assist with the successful handover of awarded projects to the drafting and production teams, ensuring all estimating information is complete and accurately communicated. V. Qualifications \& Experience Previous experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor or similar estimating role. Experience within aluminium fabrication, architectural aluminium systems, glazing, balustrades, fencing or related industries. Experience preparing quantity take-offs and quotations. Strong ability to interpret architectural and fabrication drawings. Experience preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs). Experience with supplier pricing and procurement is advantageous. Experience working with Australian companies or Australian standards would be highly regarded. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related field is preferred, although relevant industry experience will also be highly considered. VI. Technical Skills Microsoft Excel. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Reading technical and fabrication drawings. Material optimization. Cost estimating. BOM preparation. Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software would also be really advantageous. Experience using Factory.app or similar manufacturing, ERP or job management software would be an advantage. As Make It Group is currently in the early stages of implementing Factory.app, applicants with basic web development knowledge or a strong technical aptitude would be highly regarded, as they would be well placed to support the ongoing adoption and continuous improvement of the company's digital systems.
