Job Description

Overview Our client is seeking a meticulous Property Management Accounting Assistant with proven AppFolio experience to maintain flawless financial records across an expanding portfolio of managed properties. This high-accountability role demands a precision-driven professional who takes pride in absolute accuracy, understanding that even minor errors can significantly impact business operations and client satisfaction. Schedule Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Arcadia, CA Time (40 hours per week, 8 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid break). Responsibilities Maintain accurate books and records for multiple property management accounts. These accounts adhere to a “cash based” accounting method but your knowledge in accrual accounting is also an asset. Process accounts payable and receivable transactions Reconcile bank statements Prepare monthly financial reports for property owners Accurate Tenant Ledgers, handling tenant deposits, rent collections, and disbursements Assist with year-end tax preparation and audit support Ensure compliance with property management accounting standards Support month-end and year-end closing processes Maintain organized documentation and audit trails for all transactions Requirements 3\+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience in property management/real estate accounting required AppFolio experience required Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy under pressure and tight deadlines Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel Methodical approach to work with strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills for client interactions Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Highly Preferred Qualifications Experience with trust accounting and escrow management Familiarity with property management financial reporting (ex: Rent Rolls, Trust Account Balance, Budget Reports, Delinquency Reports) Experience working in high-accountability environments where precision is paramount Independent Contractor Perks Permanent work from home Immediate hiring Health Insurance Coverage for eligible locations Note Please click the " " button to complete your application, including the assessment questions, technical check, and voice recording.
