About The Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer / Technical Lead to join our team. This is an office job in Clark, Mon-Fri, weekends off. Please do not apply if you are looking to work from home. This is a hands-on technical role with a strong backend focus (approximately 80%) while also providing technical leadership, project ownership, and mentoring across the development team. You'll be responsible for designing scalable solutions, developing high-quality software, leading technical projects from concept through to deployment, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. You'll also play an important role in improving development processes, mentoring developers, and contributing to the long-term technical direction of the platform. Key Responsibilities Software Development Design, develop and maintain scalable web applications using Laravel 12 (PHP 8.2+). Build clean, maintainable and reusable code following Laravel best practices. Develop backend services using Eloquent ORM and the Service/Repository Pattern. Design and maintain RESTful APIs and backend business logic. Build responsive frontend components using Blade , Livewire , and Alpine.js. Optimise database performance using MySQL 8. Implement caching, queues and background jobs using Redis and Laravel Horizon. Develop real-time features using Laravel Echo , Pusher , or Soketi. Integrate third-party platforms including: ○ Stripe (Checkout, Connect, Refunds & Webhooks) ○ Mailgun ○ AWS S3 Implement search functionality using Laravel Scout and Meilisearch. Generate PDFs, reports and shipping labels using DomPDF and mPDF. Build and maintain dynamic email templates using a JavaScript page builder. Technical Leadership & Project Management Own the delivery of technical projects from initial planning through to deployment. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. Prepare technical estimates, define project scope, and establish realistic delivery timelines. Break projects into manageable milestones and ensure deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard. Coordinate with developers, QA, designers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Monitor project progress, identify risks early, and proactively communicate updates, blockers, and recommended solutions. Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions across the platform. Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, prioritisation, and release planning. Ensure projects follow coding standards, security best practices, and quality assurance processes. Team Leadership Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback. Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering continuous learning and best practices. Promote a collaborative engineering culture focused on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation, system performance, and development efficiency. Technical Skills & Experience Required 5+ years' commercial experience as a Full Stack or Backend Software Developer. Advanced experience with PHP 8.2+ and Laravel 10/11/12 . Strong understanding of: Eloquent ORM Service/Repository Pattern- REST APIs ○ Authentication & Authorisation Strong experience with MySQL 8 Experience using Redis for: ○ Caching ○ Queues ○ Session management Experience with Laravel Horizon Experience integrating Stripe (Checkout, Connect, Refunds & Webhooks) Experience working with AWS S3 Experience with Mailgun or other transactional email services ● Experience implementing Laravel Scout and Meilisearch Experience generating PDFs using DomPDF and mPDF Proficient with Git and collaborative development workflows. Frontend (20%) Strong experience with: Blade Livewire Alpine.js Solid JavaScript knowledge. Experience building clean, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces. Project Management Experience: We're looking for someone who has experience: Managing multiple software projects or feature releases simultaneously. Estimating technical effort and planning development roadmaps. Working directly with clients, product owners, or business stakeholders. Prioritising competing requirements while maintaining delivery timelines. Using Agile methodologies and project management tools such as Jira, ClickUp, Azure DevOps, or similar. Taking ownership of projects and driving them through to successful completion. Nice to Have Docker. CI/CD pipeline experience. AWS infrastructure. PHPUnit or Pest testing. Event-driven architecture. WebSockets. SaaS platform development. Experience leading distributed or remote development teams.
