Job Summary A Geologist conducts field and laboratory investigations to analyze rocks, minerals, soil, groundwater, and geological formations. They use scientific data to evaluate natural resources, identify potential hazards, and provide recommendations for mining, environmental protection, construction, and energy projects. Key Responsibilities Conduct geological surveys and field investigations. Collect and analyze rock, soil, mineral, and water samples. Prepare geological maps, reports, and technical documentation. Interpret geological data using specialized software and GIS tools. Assess potential geological hazards such as landslides, earthquakes, and erosion. Support mining, oil and gas, environmental, or construction projects with geological expertise. Monitor environmental impacts and recommend mitigation measures. Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers. Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Present findings and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, or management. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field Knowledge of geological mapping, mineral identification, and field sampling techniques. Familiarity with GIS, remote sensing, and geological modeling software. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in both office and field environments, often in remote locations. Preferred Skills Experience with geological data analysis software. Knowledge of environmental regulations and risk assessment. Project management and teamwork skills. Physical fitness for fieldwork. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
