Role Description We are seeking an experienced Architectural Drafter to support a well-established Melbourne architectural practice specialising primarily in residential projects. This is a remote, potentially full-time role focused on converting completed architectural designs into accurate, coordinated construction documentation. You will receive developed designs and be responsible for producing high-quality drawing packages that are ready for client delivery, approvals, and construction. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Revit and has practical experience preparing documentation for Australian projects. You should be able to work with minimal supervision, interpret design intent accurately, and apply Australian building regulations, standards, and documentation conventions. Key Responsibilities Convert completed architectural designs into detailed construction drawing packages. Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and other required documentation in Revit. Ensure drawings accurately reflect the approved design intent and project brief. Produce documentation suitable for client handover, approvals, and construction. Apply relevant Australian building regulations, standards, and drafting conventions. Review drawing sets for accuracy, completeness, coordination, and consistency. Work within the practice’s established Revit templates, documentation standards, and workflows. Incorporate revisions and feedback promptly and accurately. Coordinate remotely with the architect and other project stakeholders. Assist with architectural design and design development when documentation workloads permit. Typical Projects The practice’s project portfolio includes: New residential homes Dual-occupancy and side-by-side developments Residential extensions and renovations Warehouses Small-scale commercial projects Most work will be residential. Essential Requirements Strong professional proficiency in Autodesk Revit. Demonstrated experience producing architectural construction documentation. Previous experience working on Australian architectural or building projects. Sound knowledge of Australian building regulations, standards, and construction-documentation requirements. Experience documenting residential projects. Ability to take a developed design and independently produce a complete, construction-ready drawing set. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to drawing accuracy. Ability to interpret architectural sketches, plans, briefs, and design intent. Clear written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and manage deadlines with minimal supervision. Highly Regarded Experience with dual-occupancy or side-by-side residential developments. Experience designing or documenting new homes, extensions, and renovations. Architectural design or design-development capability. Experience working with Melbourne or Victorian residential projects. Exposure to warehouse or small commercial projects. Basic AutoCAD capability, although the practice works almost exclusively in Revit. What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will be able to receive a completed or substantially developed design, understand the project requirements, and produce an accurate construction-documentation package without extensive rework. Your work should reduce double handling, maintain the practice’s quality standards, and allow projects to move efficiently from design into approvals and construction. Working Arrangement Remote position Potentially full-time, based on the current project pipeline Initial training and onboarding will cover the practice’s templates, processes, and preferred documentation standards Regular communication and collaboration with the Melbourne-based architectural team
