We manage 22,000\+ SKUs across Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, and Shopify, and process more than 50,000 orders per month. In 2026, our focus is to make the business more data-driven: clean data, accurate KPIs, reliable reports, and no more guessing. The Data Engineer will be the foundation of this work. The Role As Data Engineer, you will own data ingestion. Your main responsibility is to make sure clean, complete, and current marketplace data flows into BigQuery so the rest of the team can build reports, dashboards, and automations from reliable data. This role is not focused on building dashboards. Your job is to build and maintain the pipelines that the dashboards, reports, and operations team depend on. If the data stops flowing, you should notice before anyone asks. What You’ll Do Build and maintain Python pipelines that pull data from Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, and Shopify APIs into BigQuery. Land raw data into append-only tables, then transform it into permanent reporting tables. Write SQL views that the BIOS and operations teams can use directly. Build a health-check view for every new pipeline to flag missing data, zero-row snapshots, or broken syncs. Verify API response structures using real data before trusting documented schemas. Probe new API endpoints with and without filters before committing to a pipeline. Handle rate limits, pagination issues, soft errors, hard errors, auth issues, and schema mismatches properly. Reuse existing BigQuery tables when possible instead of creating unnecessary new pipelines. Document pipeline runbooks in the repo, including cron settings, lookback windows, rate limits, batch sizes, and retry logic. Make sure pipelines are reliable, easy to monitor, and easy for the team to understand. Requirements At least 1 year of daily experience using Python and SQL. BigQuery experience is preferred, but any production SQL experience is acceptable. Experience building pipelines against paginated REST APIs. Able to explain how you handled rate limits, retries, partial failures, and broken API responses. Real experience with batch processing and writing data safely in batches. Comfortable reading API documentation, verifying it, and writing probe scripts when needed. Understands that documented API schemas may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work during SGT hours. Clear written English for Telegram and ClickUp updates that non-engineers can understand. Nice to Have Experience with Shopee, Lazada, or TikTok Shop APIs. Experience with Google Cloud Platform beyond BigQuery, such as Cloud Run, Cloud Scheduler, or Secret Manager. Familiarity with multi-region BigQuery setups and JOIN limitations. Experience with n8n for workflows that are better suited for automation tools instead of Python. Experience working with e-commerce data, marketplace reports, order data, inventory data, or pricing data.
