Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in renewable energy projects? We're seeking a Senior Electrical / Renewable Energy Engineer to support the design and delivery of large-scale Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Australia. This is a permanent, fully remote opportunity where you'll collaborate with Australian-based engineers, project managers, and clients to develop high-quality, compliant electrical designs for utility-scale renewable energy projects. About The Company Our client is a well-established engineering consultancy specializing in renewable energy infrastructure throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. They are committed to delivering innovative engineering solutions while contributing to the global transition toward cleaner, more sustainable energy. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed electrical designs for utility-scale Solar Farm and BESS projects. Produce technical documentation, including single-line diagrams, cable schedules, earthing layouts, protection schematics, and other electrical drawings using AutoCAD. Perform power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination using software including DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, or CYME. Complete cable thermal modelling using CYMCAP and assist with underground cable and trench design. Ensure all designs comply with Australian electrical standards, utility requirements, and grid connection guidelines. Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated project solutions. Prepare project estimates, review electrical designs, and recommend cost-effective engineering improvements. Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure equipment meets project specifications. Maintain engineering documentation, templates, and design standards. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance when required. Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and project delivery. Qualifications To be considered, you should have: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Valid PRC Professional Electrical Engineer license. At least 7 years of electrical engineering experience. Demonstrated experience working on utility-scale Solar Farm and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Strong knowledge of DC to medium-voltage electrical design. Experience performing power system studies using DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, CYME, or similar software. Experience with cable thermal modelling using CYMCAP. Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote work environment. Ability to work independently while coordinating with international stakeholders. What's in It for You?
