About The Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer with expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Azure to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-native backend services. This role is responsible for driving core backend engineering using C\ /.NET, architecting cloud PaaS integrations, managing relational and NoSQL data persistence, and implementing secure API designs. The ideal candidate brings strong DevOps practices, automated testing strategies, and hands-on experience with search indexing and retrieval to elevate overall engineering quality and maturity. Key Responsibilities Core Backend & API Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services using C\ /.NET. Build robust REST APIs (OpenAPI, versioning, backwards compatibility) incorporating resilience patterns, retries, error handling, and idempotency. Azure Cloud Architecture: Leverage Azure PaaS services—including Azure App Service, Container Apps/AKS, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hubs, and Azure Storage—to construct event-driven and durable cloud solutions. Data & Persistence Management: Architect relational (Azure SQL/SQL Server) and NoSQL (Cosmos DB) databases, optimizing queries, index strategies, partition designs, transactions, and schema evolution. Security & Compliance: Implement secure API patterns including OAuth2/OpenID Connect, Azure AD / Entra ID, Managed Identities, RBAC, least-privilege principles, and secret management using Azure Key Vault. DevOps & Automation: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep or ARM templates. Search & Indexing (Azure AI Search): Design and implement search indexes supporting structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, defining index schemas, custom analyzers, and automated indexers using Azure AI Search. Quality & Engineering Standards: Drive automated testing strategies (unit, integration, contract testing), actively lead code reviews, influence technical standards, and mentor agile teams toward higher engineering maturity. The Profile We Are Looking For Cloud-Native Architect: You bring deep, hands-on mastery of Microsoft Azure PaaS services, event-driven architectures, and Infrastructure as Code to build resilient cloud applications. Quality-First Craftsman: You prioritize clean code, test-first principles, automated testing strategies, and robust security standards across all backend integrations. Methodical Data Engineer: You understand the nuances of relational query optimization alongside NoSQL partition strategies and AI-augmented search indexing. Technical Influencer: You thrive in agile team settings, actively participating in code reviews, technical discussions, and influencing enterprise engineering best practices. Qualifications Backend Expertise: Advanced proficiency in C\ /.NET, object-oriented/functional design principles, and enterprise API design (REST/OpenAPI). Azure Platform Mastery: Expert knowledge of Azure PaaS (App Service, AKS, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid/Hubs, Blob/Queue/Table Storage). Data & NoSQL Skills: Advanced experience in SQL Server/Azure SQL (query optimization, indexing) and Cosmos DB (partition strategies, consistency models). Security & Identity: Solid experience with OAuth2, Managed Identities, Entra ID (Azure AD), Key Vault, and secure coding practices. DevOps & IaC: Strong experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, Bicep/ARM templates, and automated testing strategies; GitHub Actions experience is a plus. Search Technology: Hands-on experience with Azure AI Search (formerly Cognitive Search), index schemas, tokenization strategies, and data source connectors.
