This role is critical in ensuring cost-effective purchasing, accurate estimating, and a resilient, efficient supply chain to support project delivery and service operations. The successful candidate will take ownership of supplier relationships, pricing strategies, and procurement processes, while working closely with estimating, operations, and project teams. Key Responsibilities Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers for passive fire, mechanical & electrical and small works projects Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and high-quality materials. Evaluate supplier performance and implement improvements where necessary. Identify alternative suppliers to reduce risk and improve cost efficiency. Supply Chain Management Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring timely availability of materials for projects and maintenance contracts. Manage Subcontractor process and relationships Manage stock levels, forecasting demand and avoiding shortages or overstocking. Develop and improve procurement processes, systems, and reporting. Estimating & Cost Control Work closely with the estimating team to provide accurate material costs for tenders and bids. Analyse pricing structures and identify opportunities for cost savings and margin improvement. Maintain up-to-date pricing databases and cost models. Support project teams with cost tracking and budget adherence. Commercial & Strategic Input Contribute to pricing strategies and commercial decision-making. Monitor market trends, supplier pricing changes, and industry developments. Support business growth by ensuring procurement aligns with operational and financial goals. Key Requirements Experience Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management within the fire protection and/or security industry . Strong understanding of fire systems, components, and suppliers. Experience supporting or working closely with estimating teams. Skills Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills. Strong commercial awareness and cost analysis capability. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. High attention to detail, particularly in pricing and estimation. Proficient in procurement systems and Microsoft Excel. Personal Attributes Proactive and solutions-focused. Strong communicator and team collaborator. Results-driven with a focus on efficiency and cost control. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Desirable Experience in a similar role within a fire & security contractor or engineering business. Knowledge of UK fire safety standards and regulations.
