Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to support our New Zealand construction projects specializing in Plasterboard Linings, Steel Framing, Insulation, Painting, Barrierline IT Wall Systems, Weatherline Systems, and Fibre Cement Linings . The successful candidate will be responsible for quantity take-offs, cost planning, procurement support, contract administration, progress claims, variation management, and project cost control. This role requires strong technical knowledge of wall and ceiling systems, commercial fit-outs, and construction cost management practices within the New Zealand construction industry. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and construction drawings. Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost plans, and project budgets. Manage project costs from tender award through project completion. Prepare and assess subcontractor and supplier packages and quotations. Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets. Evaluate and process variations, extensions of time, and contractual claims. Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and project financial updates. Assist with procurement planning and material scheduling. Review contract documents and identify commercial risks and opportunities. Verify subcontractor progress claims and payment schedules. Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and contractual documentation. Support commercial and contractual administration throughout the project lifecycle. Scope of Work Experience Candidates should have experience measuring, costing, and managing projects involving: Plasterboard wall and ceiling linings Steel stud framing systems Thermal and acoustic insulation Interior and exterior painting works Barrierline IT wall systems Weatherline exterior wall systems Fibre cement linings and cladding Commercial fit-outs and construction projects Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 3–5 years of Quantity Surveying experience in commercial construction projects. Experience working on New Zealand projects is highly desirable. Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles. Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Advanced). Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Planswift, CostX, Cubit, or similar quantity surveying software. Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and services drawings. Strong analytical, numerical, and reporting skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Key Competencies Quantity take-off and measurement expertise. Cost planning and budget management.
