On behalf of our client — a global hospitality and entertainment group operating premium lifestyle venues across multiple international markets — we are recruiting an experienced GL Accountant to join their growing Manila-based finance team. Role Description The role is based in the Philippines and is remote. The GL Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete financial records across multiple markets, including the US, UK, and Germany. The role sits within a centralized back-office finance function supporting the group's international operations, and requires someone who combines technical accounting depth with a proactive, collaborative mindset. Key Responsibilities Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of all accounting entries across assigned entities Execute month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments, within agreed timelines Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve open items on a timely basis Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with applicable standards (US GAAP and local GAAP where required) Support statutory reporting and ensure compliance with local accounting and tax regulations for UK, German and Asia entities Coordinate with internal and external auditors, preparing schedules and responding to queries throughout the audit cycle Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AP, AR, Treasury, and FP&A to ensure accurate financial data and seamless period-close Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains within the GL function Maintain and apply chart of accounts and accounting policies consistently across entities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum 3–5 years of experience in General Ledger Accounting, with hands-on month-end close ownership Strong knowledge of US GAAP; familiarity with UK and/or German accounting and tax regulations is a significant advantage Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with Workday Financials is required Demonstrated experience in audit coordination (internal and external) Excellent analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience working in remote or virtual team environments Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) is considered a strong asset Prior experience supporting European markets or working within an international, multicultural finance team is preferred Fluency in English is required;
