Rate: $5/hour Overview: Are you a healthcare or medical administrative professional with a passion for guiding introductory health science students? Our academic team is looking for a Health Science Subject Matter Expert to serve as the final authority on student understanding in introductory health, wellness, and medical office practices. In this role, you will ensure our AI-driven platform accurately evaluates student mastery of fundamental healthcare concepts, medical terminology, HIPAA standards, and front-office administration for Grades 6–12. We are specifically looking for an expert who understands how to bridge foundational science with real-world medical office operations, helping middle and high school students build confidence in introductory health concepts. Key Responsibilities Academic Grading & Pedagogical Feedback: Score student assignments in foundational health science and medical administration. Provide constructive, encouraging feedback on assignments involving medical terminology, health/wellness concepts, HIPAA compliance basics, basic clinical communication, and front-office workflows. AI Quality Control: Audit our AI scoring system (Spark) to ensure auto-generated feedback is factually accurate, clear, and pedagogically sound for introductory healthcare learners. Curriculum & Standards Advocacy: Review prompts and grading rubrics to ensure alignment with foundational health science standards, identifying errors in technical explanations, medical coding basics, or administrative office scenarios. Error Analysis: Spot and correct systematic misconceptions common in introductory healthcare education (e.g., confusing prefixes/suffixes in medical terminology, misinterpreting patient privacy guidelines, or miscalculating basic health measurements). Skills and Qualifications: Analytical Depth: Ability to evaluate student work—ranging from basic middle school health vocabulary and wellness logs to complex high school case studies, mock administrative logs, or ethics essays. Technical Proficiency: Typing speed of 60wpm+ and the ability to adapt to new educational software and AI audit tools quickly. Soft Skills: An empathetic, encouraging communication style tailored for middle and high school students who may feel intimidated by science or technical medical terminology. Subject Expertise Needed: Health Science Mastery: Deep knowledge of general health and wellness principles, basic human biology/anatomy, medical terminology, basic medical ethics, and front-desk administrative workflows (e.g., patient intake, scheduling, medical records management). Communication & Technical Clarity: High-level English fluency with the ability to explain complex medical and administrative concepts simply to young learners entering the health science pathway. Nice to Have: Educational Background: A degree or certification in Health Science, Healthcare Administration, Medical Assisting (CMA/RMA), Nursing, Health Education, or a related field. Experience: Previous experience in healthcare administration, medical office work, or teaching/tutoring introductory health science or medical administrative assistant courses. Why This Role?
