IT Managers Inc. is seeking a skilled Life/400 Application Developer to join our core insurance technology team in Taguig City . In this role, you will design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot complex insurance applications built on the Life/Asia (Life/400\) platform. Working in a hybrid work arrangement , you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions that support the client's regional life insurance operations. Key Responsibilities Application Development: Design, code, and test application software using COBOL/400 , CL/400 , and SQL/400 on the AS/400 (IBM i) platform. System Maintenance: Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing Life/Asia (Life/400\) core subsystems, including policy administration, billing, and claims processing. Database Management: Write, optimize, and maintain complex database structures, views, and queries utilizing DB2/400 . Production Support: Investigate, debug, and resolve high-priority production incidents, system bottlenecks, and batch processing failures. Technical Documentation: Author detailed technical specifications, system architecture mappings, and comprehensive test plans. Collaboration: Partner with Business Analysts and QA teams to translate functional business requirements into scalable technical workflows. Job Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 4–5 years of solid hands-on development experience in the Life/Asia (Life/400\) insurance application. Core Technical Skills: Proficient in COBOL/400 , CL/400 , DB2/400 , and SQL/400 . Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of the AS/400 (IBM i) operating environment, including interactive jobs, batch subsystems, and security concepts. Domain Knowledge: Strong foundational knowledge of life insurance products, policy life cycles, and actuarial processes. Soft Skills: Excellent analytical problem-solving abilities and strong verbal/written English communication skills. Work Setup \& Benefits Work Location: Taguig City, (BGC area) Work Shift: Day Shift (9AM-6PM - flexible depending on project assignment and Hiring Manager) Work Arrangement: Hybrid Setup (4-8 days on-site per month). Equipment: Corporate laptop and home-office peripherals provided.
