Arcadia
Arcadia is a national leader in the design, manufacture and supply of solar shading, ventilation and acoustic louvre systems. Working closely with architects, designers, engineers and builders across Australia, we deliver complete façade solutions from design and project management through to manufacture, installation and commissioning. We are seeking an experienced Façade Designer / Autodesk Specialist to join our expanding Projects Team. This is not solely a drafting or modelling role. In addition to strong AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor capability, we are specifically looking for someone with demonstrated experience developing, implementing and improving Autodesk design systems and design-to-manufacture workflows. The successful candidate should be capable of assessing an existing design process and developing standardised, reusable and configurable product models, parametric rules, templates, component libraries and automated workflows that reduce repetitive drafting, improve accuracy and streamline the progression from architectural design through to fabrication and manufacture. Ideally, you will have previously established or significantly improved Autodesk workflows within a design, engineering or manufacturing environment, rather than solely working within an existing system. Key Responsibilities · Produce high-quality architectural shop drawings using AutoCAD, including plans, elevations, sections, details, set-outs, interfaces and fixing details. · Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies and fabrication documentation using Autodesk Inventor. · Develop parametric and configurable product models that can be efficiently adapted across multiple projects and product configurations. · Identify repetitive design and drafting activities and develop standardisation and automation to improve efficiency and reduce errors. · Develop and maintain Autodesk templates, component libraries, drawing standards and workflows. · Utilise Inventor parameters and, where applicable, iLogic or other rules-based automation to improve design efficiency. · Produce accurate BOMs, material take-offs and manufacturing information from design models. · Generate assembly instructions, drill programs, sheet-metal drawings, flat patterns and DXF outputs for in-house and outsourced manufacturing. · Establish and improve workflows that efficiently progress information from architectural/shop drawings through detailed design and into fabrication and manufacture. · Translate and coordinate design information between AutoCAD, Revit and Autodesk Inventor. · Ensure drawings and models are accurate, consistent and compliant with Arcadia's design standards and workflows. · Support Revit and BIM-based coordination where required. · Work closely with Project Managers, designers and production teams to ensure documentation is suitable for procurement, manufacture and installation. Qualifications , Skills & Experience Essential · Minimum 5 years' experience as a Façade Designer, Design Drafter or similar role. · Strong capability across Autodesk software, particularly AutoCAD and Inventor. · Demonstrated experience developing, implementing or significantly improving Autodesk design workflows, including parametric models, templates, libraries, standardisation or design automation. · Demonstrated experience producing architectural shop drawings and fabrication/manufacturing documentation. · Strong understanding of 3D and parametric modelling, assemblies and reusable/configurable components. · Experience developing fabrication information for sheet-metal, aluminium, façade or architectural systems. · Ability to translate and coordinate designs between AutoCAD, Revit and Inventor. · Sound understanding of BIM principles and workflows. · Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing and model accuracy. · Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently within a remote environment. · Strong written and verbal English communication skills. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook. Highly Regarded · Demonstrated experience establishing or substantially developing an Autodesk design-to-manufacture workflow. · Advanced experience with Inventor iLogic or other rules-based design automation. · Development of parametric/configurable product models and reusable design systems. · Development and management of templates, component libraries, naming conventions and drawing standards. · Experience generating BOMs, MTOs, flat patterns, DXFs and other manufacturing outputs directly from Inventor models. · Experience integrating or improving workflows between AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor and manufacturing/fabrication processes. · Understanding of relevant Australian Standards and building codes. · Engineering, Architecture, Drafting or related qualification. · Previous experience within the façade, architectural metalwork, aluminium or sheet-metal industry. What We Offer · Full-time work-from-home arrangement with equipment provided. · Support from an established team across Australia and the Philippines. · Exposure to a broad range of commercial and architectural façade projects. · Opportunity to play an active role in the development and improvement of Arcadia's Autodesk and design-to-manufacture capability. · Opportunity to influence how our products are modelled, documented, standardised and progressed through to manufacture. · Opportunities for training in Perth, Western Australia. Application Requirements In addition to your CV, applicants should provide examples of relevant Autodesk design work, particularly AutoCAD and Inventor, where available. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience with: · Parametric or configurable Inventor models. · Inventor assemblies and sheet-metal modelling. · iLogic or other forms of design automation. · Development of Autodesk templates and component libraries. · BOM, MTO and manufacturing outputs. · Establishing or improving Autodesk and design-to-manufacture workflows. Please briefly describe any Autodesk systems, workflows, automation, parametric models or standardisation initiatives that you have personally developed or implemented, including what you changed and the improvement or efficiency achieved.
