The Business Intelligence Analyst turns sales, customer, product, pricing, distribution, and market data into actionable insights. The role manages recurring performance reports and ad hoc analyses for the National Accounts organization while identifying trends, opportunities, and risks. It also supports sales growth, distribution expansion, pricing strategies, promotional effectiveness, category performance, and account planning through data-driven recommendations and presentations. Responsibilities Analyze sales performance across customers, products, markets, geographies, time periods, and other relevant dimensions. Develop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards covering sales, distribution, velocity, productivity, pricing, inventory, market share, and other KPIs. Standardize, validate, import, and export customer and internal data for Cognos and other reporting platforms. Use IRI/Circana and Nielsen syndicated data to assess category performance, market share, distribution, velocity, pricing, promotions, competition, and market trends. Monitor competitor assortment, pricing, promotions, and market activity while maintaining the market intelligence database. Identify trends, performance gaps, opportunities, and risks, then translate findings into actionable recommendations. Conduct post-promotional analysis, including sales lift, efficiency, trade-spending effectiveness, and key learnings. Create executive-ready and customer-facing presentations that turn complex data into clear and compelling business stories. Support customer reviews, annual planning, line reviews, category reviews, and strategic sales initiatives through data-driven analysis. Collaborate with Sales Managers and cross-functional teams to define analytical requirements, validate findings, and recommend next steps. Establish and maintain standardized KPI definitions, reporting methodologies, and quality control procedures. Validate and reconcile data from multiple sources, investigate discrepancies, and resolve reporting issues. Improve reporting processes, dashboards, templates, data definitions, and quality controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Provide backup support for AFS entry, promotional calendar maintenance, and recurring promotion-related tasks. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications A degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field is required. At least 2 years of experience in business intelligence, sales analytics, category management, CPG, or retail analytics is preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently. Advanced proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, nested formulas, SUMIFS, data validation, charts, and large dataset reconciliation. Experience combining, cleaning, validating, and analyzing data from multiple sources is required. Demonstrated expertise in IRI/Circana and Nielsen syndicated data is preferred. Strong knowledge of sales, distribution, pricing, promotional, competitive, and category performance analytics. Ability to create executive-ready and customer-facing presentations using PowerPoint and effective business storytelling. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, performance drivers, gaps, opportunities, and risks. Experience with Cognos, VIP, retailer portals, customer reporting platforms, or similar BI systems is preferred. Strong understanding of retail and CPG metrics, including sales, market share, distribution, ACV, velocity, pricing, promotional lift, assortment, and year-over-year trends. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable data visualization tools is preferred. Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate data, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain reporting accuracy. Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and recommend practical solutions. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.
