About The Job The Jr Payroll Administrator supports payroll operations across the combined organization processing payroll data, maintaining accurate employee records, and supporting reconciliation between payroll systems as PBH and ARS integrate. This includes verifying timesheets and hours, processing new hires, terminations, and status changes, and responding to routine employee payroll questions. More complex payroll issues, approvals, and compliance decisions are escalated for review. This role is ideal for a highly detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working within established payroll processes and escalation paths, and who understands the importance of accuracy and discretion when handling confidential compensation and personal data. Job Details Employment Type: Full-Time Independent Contractor Department: Finance and Accounting Job Level: Intermediate Experience: 2 Years Education: Bachelors Responsibilities Payroll Data Processing & Entry | 40% Processes new hires, terminations, and employee status or pay changes in the payroll system. Verifies timesheets and hours worked against source systems before each pay cycle. Enters and updates payroll data accurately and on schedule. Flags discrepancies or missing information for review before processing. Payroll Reconciliation & Systems Support | 25% Supports reconciliation between PBH and ARS payroll systems as the organizations integrate. Validates payroll data accuracy across systems during transition periods. Assists with testing and data checks as payroll processes are consolidated. Documents discrepancies and routes them for resolution. Records Management & Compliance Documentation | 20% Maintains accurate, organized payroll records and employee files. Supports preparation of payroll reports and documentation for audits. Keeps payroll documentation current as policies and processes evolve. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information. Employee Inquiries & Support | 15% Responds to routine employee questions about pay, deductions, and payroll timing. Escalates complex payroll disputes or compliance questions for review. Supports clear, timely communication on payroll-related matters. Tracks and follows up on open employee payroll inquiries. Qualifications & Experience 1–2 years of experience in payroll administration, accounting support, or related administrative roles. Experience processing payroll data and maintaining employee records. High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling recurring, deadline-driven work. Comfortable following established processes and escalation paths rather than making independent policy calls. Experience with multi-system payroll reconciliation or M&A integration a plus. Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or similar credential a plus. Technical Skills & Tools Payroll system proficiency — ADP or similar payroll/HRIS platforms. Strong Excel skills — data entry, validation, and basic reconciliation across spreadsheets. Clear written English for routine employee communications and documentation. Experience with HRIS platforms beyond payroll (e.g., Workday, UKG, Paychex) a plus.
