We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant to support a busy Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Physical Therapy practice. In this remote role, you will assist providers with patient coordination, clinical documentation, appointment scheduling, and administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations. The ideal candidate has experience working in orthopedic or rehabilitation settings, is proficient with EMR systems and communication platforms, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Assist providers in supporting orthopedic, sports medicine, and physical therapy patient care. Prepare treatment rooms, medical instruments, and equipment for clinical procedures. Accurately document and update patient demographics, medical histories, and clinical notes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Schedule , reschedule, and confirm patient appointments while maintaining provider calendars. Manage inbound and outbound patient communications using RingCentral or similar phone systems. Educate patients on post-procedure instructions, rehabilitation plans, and therapy guidelines as directed by providers. Coordinate with physicians, physical therapists, and other clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care. Process patient forms, referrals, authorizations, and other clinical documentation as needed. Monitor and maintain accurate patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Support daily administrative tasks to improve clinic workflow and patient experience. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment following established protocols. Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations. Qualifications At least 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an orthopedic, sports medicine, physical therapy, or related specialty practice. Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Proficiency with RingCentral or similar communication and scheduling platforms. Strong understanding of orthopedic terminology, rehabilitation workflows, and patient care processes. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Strong verbal and written English communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with providers and clinical staff. High level of professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential is preferred but not required.
