Remote – Philippines Part-Time Contractor | Around 20 hours per week About Around Finance Around Finance is a modern Irish accountancy firm working with fast-growing, ambitious SMEs, with a core focus on marketing, e-commerce and tech. We’re looking for an experienced, self-sufficient bookkeeper to take ownership of our internal bookkeeping across four entities, alongside our monthly client billing and collections. This is not a high-volume finance role. The scope is around 80 client invoices per month and four small sets of books . What matters most is accuracy, ownership and the ability to manage the full process independently. The Role You’ll be responsible for keeping our own books clean across Ireland, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the Philippines , while making sure client billing is accurate, issued on time and properly reconciled. Your responsibilities will include: Managing day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero across four entities Completing bank and control account reconciliations, supplier bills, expenses and journals Managing monthly intercompany reconciliations and foreign exchange differences Running the monthly client billing cycle and maintaining recurring invoice schedules Reconciling what was invoiced against what should have been invoiced before month-end Managing GoCardless collections, direct debit mandates and failed or lapsed payments Implementing agreed fee and service-plan changes within the billing system Managing extra-work billing and maintaining accurate records of what has been billed, written off or remains open Reviewing time recorded in Karbon against client fees and highlighting where the two have drifted Setting up new clients correctly from day one, including fees, billing dates, service plans and mandates Maintaining an accurate sales ledger, including invoices, receipts, credit notes and debtors What We’re Looking For You should already have: At least 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience Strong, current Xero experience, including repeating invoices, bank reconciliations, journals and chart of accounts Experience owning a monthly invoicing cycle end to end Experience with multi-entity bookkeeping and foreign currency , ideally including intercompany transactions Strong attention to detail and accuracy Confidence working independently and following up with stakeholders until you have the information you need Strong written English, comfortable communicating with Irish clients and international colleagues Experience using AI tools, particularly Claude , as part of your workflow Experience with GoProposal, GoCardless or Dext , or previous experience working within an accounting practice, would be an advantage. Working Hours This is a part-time contractor role at around 20 hours per week . For the first three months, expect the workload to be closer to 30 hours per week while we clear the backlog and get the systems fully set up. The first four working days of each month are the busiest period. We require at least 3 hours each working day between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM Manila time to overlap with the team in Ireland, South Africa and Sri Lanka. The rest of your hours can be arranged flexibly.
