Who We Are Avigate is an early-stage AI company building a platform that helps people preserve knowledge — personal life stories, professional expertise, and business intelligence — through AI-powered voice conversation, searchable knowledge archives, and intelligent document generation. Our platform handles sensitive data: personal family archives, clinical conversations, and confidential business intelligence. We are a small founding team building ambitious, interconnected products on a shared infrastructure. Architectural decision we make today will carry forward across the entire platform. This is high-ownership engineering work. The Role We are hiring a full-stack engineer who can architect and build across mobile, web, backend, cloud infrastructure, and AI pipelines — with security and privacy as design concerns. You will work directly with the founding team. You will own technical decisions end to end: from a mobile app screen to an API layer to a RAG pipeline to a cloud security policy. This role is for you if you have built systems where data protection was a design constraint from day one. What You Will Build You will build and own a multi-product AI platform end to end. Responsibilities span the full stack across all products and infrastructure: Mobile \& Web Frontend React Native using Expo Framework mobile app for iOS and Android React/TypeScript web frontend Real-time UI components for live session feedback, credit deduction, and analytics Backend \& API Layer Node.js and/or FastAPI (Python) API layer connecting frontend to all services Real-time credit ledger with per-second deduction during live AI voice sessions Document generation pipeline (python-docx) for structured output across products Multi-speaker transcription pipeline using Deepgram or Assembly AI with speaker diarization Structured document generation from AI-labeled transcripts AI \& Knowledge Pipeline RAG pipeline using Gemini or alternatives — multi-format ingestion across audio, PDF, and video transcripts Audience-partitioned vector indexes — content isolated at the index level, not filtered at query time Integration with voice AI engines such as Retell, Hume, etc, for real-time voice persona with session continuity Real-time taxonomy mapping engine — mapping conversation content to structured knowledge items during live sessions Coverage scoring engine with conditional item activation and session history tracking Data Architecture \& Storage Multi-tenant vault architecture on AWS S3 — isolated at the data layer per tenant and sub-vault PostgreSQL for relational data: user records, credit ledger, coverage scores, taxonomy state AWS for authentication, row-level security, real-time subscriptions, and storage access control Role-based access control at the database layer — owner, manager, staff, agency partner access models Cloud Infrastructure \& DevOps AWS infrastructure management using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) S3 tiered storage — Standard for active vaults, Glacier Instant Retrieval for archives IAM roles, KMS encryption, VPC configuration, CloudTrail audit logging CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions — multi-environment deployments (dev/staging/production) Secrets management using AWS Secrets Manager — no credentials in code Payments \& Integrations Payment gateway web-first checkout and Dodo Payments or equivalent (international) for credit pack billing Real-time credit deduction engine with latency requirements during live voice AI sessions Core Requirements for This Role You must be able to demonstrate real experience in these areas: Full-Stack Development React with TypeScript — production web frontends Node.js and/or FastAPI/Python backend REST API design and third-party API integration Real-time systems (WebSockets, streaming APIs) PostgreSQL — schema design, indexing, query optimisation AWS — auth, RLS, storage, real-time, edge functions AWS (S3, IAM, KMS, Lambda, CloudFront, Cognito) Terraform or AWS CDK — Infrastructure as Code CI/CD pipelines — GitHub Actions or equivalent AI \& Machine Learning Integration RAG pipeline design and implementation Vector database design (Pinecone, Weaviate, or similar) LLM API integration (Claude, Gemini, OpenAI) Semantic chunking and retrieval strategies Speech AI APIs — Deepgram, Whisper, or equivalent Prompt engineering for structured document output Multi-tenant vector index isolation AI cost management and token optimisation Security and Privacy Experience in these areas are a plus: Encryption at rest (AES-256 / KMS) and in transit (TLS 1\.3\) Row-level security (RLS) in PostgreSQL / Supabase — access control at the database layer Multi-tenant data isolation — vault architecture isolated at the data layer, not filtered at query time Role-based access control (RBAC) design — distinct permission models per user role and product Immutable audit logging — who accessed what vault, when, from where Secrets management — AWS Secrets Manager or equivalent; zero credentials in source code Input validation and prompt injection defense for AI-powered systems Philippines Data Privacy Act (RA 10173\) — technical compliance requirements HIPAA technical safeguards — for clinical data handling in the medical transcription product Who You Are 4\+ years of production engineering experience, with at least one project where you owned the security architecture You have built systems handling sensitive personal, medical, or business data — and you can describe the specific decisions you made to protect it You are comfortable making architectural decisions independently and defending them clearly to a non-technical founding team You read documentation before you write code. You design the data model before you design the interface You flag security and privacy concerns proactively You use AI development tools daily (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and treat them as force multipliers You are located in the Philippines and willing to meet face to face at least once a week.
