Full Stack Software Engineer (Junior / Mid-Level) Day Shift, Remote (Philippines) Cruise Control Gro up is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer (Junior / Mid-Leve l) who is confident contributing across the stack — front-end and back-end — to build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure web applications that support Karmo's operations and growth. About The Role The Full Stack Software Engineer supports the design, development, and maintenance of digital platforms that power dealership and fleet operations. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and team leads, this role contributes to both front-end and back-end development and builds toward greater ownership of features and technical decisions as experience grows. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code across the stack (frontend, backend, databases), with a focus on AI-first development. Collaborate with product owners, designers, and senior engineers to deliver high-quality features on time. Participate in the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance, with support from senior team members. Contribute to code reviews and follow established architectural patterns and engineering standards. Support the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Write unit and integration tests to help ensure code quality. Troubleshoot and debug software issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineers as needed. Assist with integration of third-party APIs and services. Follow data security and privacy standards in all technical solutions. Maintain documentation of systems, workflows, and code changes. Participate actively in sprint planning, ceremonies, and retrospectives. Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Work closely with QA to support test coverage and test plans. Support and share knowledge with peers, and where experience allows, provide guidance to junior developers or interns. What We're Looking For Essential Skills Working knowledge of React, including Tailwind CSS, and hands-on ability to build UI components. Familiarity with Node.js and TypeScript for API development. Exposure to or working knowledge of the Next.js framework. Basic to intermediate experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL. Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services integration. Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work. Willingness to learn DevOps practices and cloud services (AWS or GCP). Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions or similar). Exposure to unit and integration testing frameworks such as Cypress or Playwright. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment, with support from senior engineers. Essential Experience Some hands-on experience in full-stack development, gained through professional roles, internships, personal projects, or study (typically 0–3 years). Experience working in a team environment, collaborating cross-functionally with others. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply new technologies. Experience translating requirements into working code, with guidance and support. Desirable Skills Experience coding using generative AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Co-Pilot. Familiarity with GraphQL. Exposure to containerisation technologies such as Docker. Understanding of Agile/Scrum principles. Experience with JIRA. Familiarity with test planning concepts and automation coverage. Desirable Experience Experience in a startup, agency, or fast-paced tech environment. Exposure to the automotive, mobility, or fleet industry. Internship or placement experience in a software engineering role.
