About The Role s We are seeking experienced senior-level contractors to join Zig Zag Live across multiple technical disciplines. These are hands-on roles working on a live production platform serving real users in a real-time environment. Successful candidates will work closely with other engineers to deliver new features, improve system reliability, resolve production issues, and support the continued growth of the platform. Contractors who demonstrate strong performance and reliability may be considered for long-term or expanded engagement. Positions Available 2 × Senior Backend Engineers 1 × Senior React Native Engineer 1 × DevOps Engineer 1 × Network & Infrastructure Engineer Engagement Type: Independent Contractor Location: Philippines (Remote or Metro Manila preferred) Key Responsibilities Senior Backend Engineers Develop and maintain backend APIs and platform services Build and improve livestreaming, messaging and realtime systems Implement new features and platform improvements Troubleshoot production issues and optimise performance Collaborate closely with mobile and infrastructure teams Senior React Native Engineer Maintain and enhance the existing React Native application Develop new mobile features and user experiences Investigate and resolve bugs, crashes and performance issues Optimise application responsiveness and reliability Collaborate with backend engineers on API integrations DevOps Engineer Manage cloud infrastructure and deployments Maintain CI/CD pipelines and development tooling Improve monitoring, logging and operational visibility Support system reliability and scalability initiatives Assist with automation and infrastructure improvements Network & Infrastructure Engineer Manage networking, connectivity and infrastructure reliability Support multi-region environments and traffic routing Assist with security, monitoring and incident response Troubleshoot network-related performance issues Work closely with engineering teams on platform availability Technical Environment Candidates may work with technologies including: React Native Real-time communications Push notifications Infrastructure GitHub Actions Multi-region deployments Monitoring and observability tooling Platform Services Livestreaming infrastructure Messaging systems Payment processing Video storage and delivery Authentication and identity services Experience Level Senior-level only Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years commercial experience in their relevant discipline. Previous experience with real-time streaming platforms and production systems is essential for these roles. These roles are not suitable for graduates or junior developers. Work Arrangement Contract-based engagement Fully remote Shift alignment may be discussed during the interview process Working hours are flexible within an 8-hour window to accommodate project requirements and team collaboration.
