About the Client Our client is a Sydney-based labour hire company specialising in sourcing skilled professionals across industrial & trades, business support, and health & community sectors, with over 25 years of experience delivering both temporary and permanent staffing solutions. They are known for building long-term relationships with clients and candidates, and for delivering high-quality, well-matched talent through a structured recruitment process. About The Role We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to take ownership of our client's business development function. This is a newly created, individual contributor role — our client does not currently have a BDM in place, and this position does not involve managing a team. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to shape and drive the client acquisition strategy from the ground up, working directly with and reporting to the Managing Director. You will personally own the full business development cycle — from prospecting and outreach through to closing new business — while also building and refining the processes that support it. This role is ideal for a senior, hands-on operator who wants to own a strategic function individually, without the overhead of managing direct reports. This is also a great fit for someone with a background in Labour Hire recruitment who is looking to transition into Business Development — your industry knowledge and client-facing experience would translate well into this role. While the primary focus of this role is business development, you may also be asked to help out with recruitment tasks when necessary, particularly during busy periods.
