Klaviyo & Retention Marketing Specialist for Premium Beauty Ecommerce Brand IVEAGH is a founder-led New Zealand ecommerce brand built around Oil No. 22: a fragrance-led, dry-touch oil for both body and hair. We are looking for a genuinely hands-on Klaviyo and retention marketing specialist to take ownership of our email marketing, improve our customer lifecycle, sort our pop-up, and turn first-time customers into repeat customers. This is not a role for someone who just schedules generic newsletters or adds discount codes to flows. We need someone who can audit what is currently in Klaviyo, identify what is missing, create the strategy, write the emails, build the flows, segment customers properly, test ideas and report clearly on what is actually working. You will work directly with the founder. Our Meta ads are managed separately, so your role is to make sure the people we acquire are captured, converted and retained properly once they enter our ecosystem. What you will be responsible for: - Carrying out a full Klaviyo audit. This includes our current flows, lists, segments, forms, campaign history, deliverability basics, subscriber capture and reporting. - Creating a clear 30/60/90-day retention plan with priorities, actions and expected outcomes. - Building or improving the essential flows, including welcome, browse abandonment, abandoned cart/checkout, post-purchase, review request, replenishment, win-back and sunset flows where relevant. - Planning, writing, designing and building our ongoing email campaigns in Klaviyo. We need campaigns that build the brand and drive sales without relying on constant discounts. - Improving segmentation for non-purchasers, first-time buyers, repeat buyers, engaged subscribers, lapsed customers, high-value customers and product-specific purchasers. - Improving our post-purchase journey for Oil No. 22. This should include product-use education, review collection, customer proof, appropriate replenishment timing and future cross-sell opportunities. - Auditing and improving our website pop-up. This includes the proposition, timing, triggers, design, mobile experience, form fields and how it feeds into the welcome flow. We do not want a generic evergreen discount pop-up as the default answer. - Creating clean, mobile-first emails that look premium, feel human and are properly built in Klaviyo. You need to be comfortable with email copy, simple design, basic HTML/Klaviyo block editing and thorough link/CTA QA. - Providing a short weekly report covering list growth, campaign revenue, flow revenue, opens, clicks, conversion, unsubscribe rate, deliverability issues, tests completed and your recommended next priorities. About the brand: Oil No. 22 is a dry-touch body and hair oil. It is fragrance-led, with Ruby Rouge as the first scent: a citrus and orchard-fruit opening, an amber and sandalwood heart, and an oakmoss and cream finish. The core customer tension is simple. People want soft, scented skin and healthier-looking hair, but they do not want greasy residue, another separate product for every job, or generic beauty marketing. We are building a premium brand and we protect price integrity. We may use genuinely time-bound launch mechanics when they make sense, but we do not want a retention strategy based on routine discount codes, artificial urgency or training customers to wait for a sale. All product and ingredient claims must remain accurate. We need someone who understands the difference between strong beauty copy and unsubstantiated health or medical claims. What success looks like in the first 30 days: - You deliver a clear written account audit and a prioritised 30/60/90-day plan. - You map the customer journey and explain which flow triggers at each stage and why. - You fix the critical gaps first, especially welcome, cart/checkout abandonment and post-purchase. - You improve the pop-up and welcome-flow handoff without defaulting to a permanent discount. - You give us a practical campaign calendar that balances product education, fragrance, customer proof, founder content and conversion. - You provide clear reporting and recommendations rather than vague comments about needing more content. You must have: - Deep, hands-on Klaviyo experience for ecommerce, including flows, segmentation, forms, campaigns, basic deliverability and reporting. - Proven experience with DTC beauty, skincare, fragrance, wellness, fashion or premium consumer brands. Please share examples and genuine results where you are allowed to do so. - Strong English copywriting ability and good taste. You need to be able to write commercially effective emails that do not sound generic, overhyped or AI-generated. - The ability to design and build clean, mobile-first emails in Klaviyo. You do not need to be a full-time designer, but we do not want ugly templates or generic email blocks. - A practical understanding of flow revenue, repeat purchase rate, time to second order, cohort behaviour, list growth, deliverability, unsubscribe rate and customer lifetime value. - The ability to work independently with a founder. You must take ownership, make clear recommendations, hit deadlines and not wait to be told what every email should say. - Proficiency with Claude or Manus. We need someone who can use AI properly to accelerate research, account auditing, segmentation ideas, test planning, reporting and production. This does not mean pasting generic AI copy into Klaviyo. You must use judgment, protect the IVEAGH voice, fact-check claims and produce final work that feels genuinely written for the brand. This role is not a fit if: - Your main strategy is always-on discounts. - You only know how to set up generic welcome flows. - You need the founder to provide every email concept and every next step. - You cannot show real ecommerce retention work. - You use AI as a substitute for thinking or editing. - You cannot explain the commercial reason behind each flow, segment, test or campaign. We are open to an ongoing relationship, but will begin with a paid 30-day trial project. The first month should cover the account audit, priority-flow work, pop-up improvement, campaign plan and the first set of executed emails. Please propose either a clear fixed fee for that scope or an hourly rate with your estimated hours and weekly deliverables. If the work is strong, proactive and commercially useful, there is a real opportunity for an ongoing retained role. To apply, please begin your proposal with: Ruby Rouge Then answer these questions directly: 1. Share two ecommerce brands where you personally improved Klaviyo flows, campaigns, subscriber capture or repeat purchase. What did you do and what improved? 2. If you opened a neglected Klaviyo account tomorrow, what are the first five things you would audit and why? 3. How would you approach a pop-up for a premium NZ$54.90 body-and-hair oil without defaulting to an evergreen discount? 4. Which AI tool do you use most, Claude, Manus or another? Give a real example of how it improved your email or retention work without making the final output generic. 5. Include one relevant email or flow example you have personally written and built. Explain the audience, objective and result. 6. What would you propose for a 30-day audit-and-implementation engagement, including cost, estimated hours and deliverables? We are looking for clear thinking, execution quality, commercial judgment and someone who can make IVEAGH’s retention function more disciplined and more effective from day one.
