Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Senior Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Officer to oversee the end-to-end administration of payroll, compensation, employee benefits, and statutory compliance for our growing organization. This role serves as the primary owner of payroll operations, ensuring employees and consultants are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with Philippine labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies. The position works closely with the Corporate & Business Operations (CBO) Team, Talent Services Partner, external accounting partners, payroll providers, and legal advisors to maintain accurate payroll records, statutory reporting, and financial reconciliations while continuously improving payroll processes and controls. The ideal candidate combines strong payroll accounting expertise with a deep understanding of compensation and benefits administration, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 5–7 years of progressive experience in payroll processing, compensation and benefits administration, and payroll accounting. Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws, payroll regulations, and government-mandated contributions, including: SSS PhilHealth Pag-IBIG BIR Withholding Tax Experience using payroll and accounting systems such as Xero or similar ERP/payroll platforms. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets, including payroll formulas, reconciliation, and reporting. Strong analytical, numerical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle highly confidential payroll and employee information with discretion. Able to manage multiple priorities, meet strict payroll deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration Manage the end-to-end payroll process for regular employees, project-based employees, fixed-term employees, and consultants. Validate Daily Time Records (DTRs), leave balances, overtime, undertime, absences, holiday pay, and other payroll inputs. Compute salaries, allowances, incentives, statutory deductions, taxes, payroll adjustments, and other compensation components accurately and on schedule. Prepare and process final pay computations in accordance with labor laws and company policies. Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure payroll data is properly encoded and reconciled within the company's payroll and accounting systems. Prepare payroll journals, payroll summaries, variance analyses, and management reports. Respond to payroll-related inquiries regarding salaries, deductions, payslips, and final pay while coordinating non-payroll concerns with the appropriate HR stakeholders. Compensation & Benefits Administration Administer employee compensation programs, including salary adjustments, promotions, regularization increases, annual merit reviews, and performance-based incentives. Manage employee enrollment, maintenance, and updates for company-sponsored benefits such as HMO, group life insurance, and wellness programs. Coordinate with benefit providers regarding enrollments, claims, renewals, billing, and policy updates. Monitor benefit utilization and prepare reports to support annual renewal and budgeting activities. Ensure compensation and benefits practices remain compliant with applicable laws and company policies. Payroll Accounting & Statutory Compliance Ensure accurate computation, filing, and timely remittance of statutory contributions and taxes, including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR withholding taxes. Partner with the external accounting team to validate payroll computations, tax calculations, statutory remittances, and government reporting. Prepare payroll accounting schedules, journal entries, reconciliations, and audit-ready documentation. Maintain complete and accurate payroll records to support internal and external audits. Monitor legislative and regulatory updates affecting payroll, taxation, and employee compensation. Identify and implement payroll process improvements that strengthen compliance, efficiency, and internal controls. Consultant Compensation Administration Compute consultant and project-based compensation based on approved contracts, service agreements, and project deliverables. Coordinate with the Corporate & Business Operations (CBO) Team to ensure complete documentation before payment processing. Work closely with external accounting partners to validate consultant compensation, withholding taxes, and supporting documentation. Ensure consultant withholding taxes are correctly applied in accordance with BIR regulations. Maintain accurate consultant payment trackers, reconciliation records, and payment schedules. Provide complete payroll computations and supporting documentation for timely payment releases. Stakeholder Management Collaborate with the Corporate & Business Operations (CBO) Team, Talent Services Partner, Finance, external accounting partners, payroll providers, and Legal Counsel to ensure seamless payroll operations and regulatory compliance. Coordinate payroll schedules, statutory deadlines, government remittances, and payment releases with internal and external stakeholders. Support internal and external audits by preparing payroll documentation, reconciliations, and compliance reports. Continuous Improvement Recommend and implement initiatives that improve payroll accuracy, operational efficiency, internal controls, and employee experience. Assist in the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of payroll systems and automation initiatives. Develop and maintain payroll process documentation and standard operating procedures.
