Job Description Position Title : FINANCE \& ACCOUNTING OFFICER Area of Assignment : Makati Department : Finance \& Administration Department Reports to : Finance \& Administrative Director Type of Employment : Regular employment (subject to probationary period) Background The Solar Village Foundation (SVF) is a non-stock, non-profit organization that is focused on enhancing last mile education by providing appropriate, sustainable solar-powered solutions, facilitating environments and strategic alliances that enable rural marginalized communities to fully take advantage of educational opportunities. With strong mission focus on the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in Mindanao for the past ten (10\) years, SVF aims to expand to other geographic clusters in 2026 onwards, without leaving behind partners and communities that are still on their development journey, and who might continue to benefit from the SVF partnership pathways. The Finance and Accounting Officer is an integral part of the SVF Finance and Administration Department, will directly report to the Finance \& Administrative Director. The position will be based in the SVF Head Office in Makati City, with leeway for some remote work. Key Roles \& Responsibilities The Finance and Accounting Officer is responsible for managing the financial health of the organization by overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, preparing accurate reports, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Specific duties include: Financial Management Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasts. Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts. Accounting Operations Review supporting documents before process payment and record in books. Process accounts payable and receivable. Prepare payment entries using Bizlink and check. Oversee journal entries and general ledger postings. Conduct bank reconciliations. Compliance \& Audit Ensure compliance with local tax laws and financial regulations. Prepare and file tax returns and statutory reports. Support internal and external audits. Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets. Participate in compliance review when needed. Reporting \& Analysis Provide financial analysis to support management decisions. Track key performance indicators (KPIs). Prepare variance analysis between actuals and budgets. Present financial insights to senior management. Collaboration Work closely with other departments to align financial planning. Support procurement and contract management with financial reviews. Liaise with corporate secretary, auditors, and regulatory agencies. Others Performs other related duties as assigned by the management. Key Qualifications: Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred. Experience : At least 3 years of strong relevant experience in accounting or finance. Has meaningful experience working in a development sector. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations Location : Based in SVF Office in Makati City with work from home setup and fieldwork in project sites (e.g. Regions 12, 8 and 4B) based on agreed schedule Technical Skills : Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle). Advanced MS Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis. Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders. Language Skills : Ability to speak Bisaya and/or Ilonggo is an advantage Physical Requirements : Physically and mentally fit for long treks and off-road travel.
