Location: Philippines (Remote) Job Type: Part-Time | Independent Contractor Compensation AUD $1,000 – $1,500 per month Schedule Approximately 15–20 hours per week with occasional collaboration during Australian business hours. About the Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function for a growing Australian health and wellness business. This is a standalone role suited for someone who enjoys building financial systems, improving processes, and partnering with business leaders to provide strategic financial insights. You'll play a key role in strengthening financial operations while supporting the company's continued growth. This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates based in the Philippines. About the Business Our client is an established Australian health and wellness company offering products and personalised wellness services. As the business continues to grow, they are investing in stronger financial systems, reporting, and governance to support long-term success. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day finance function and oversee financial operations Prepare monthly management reports, financial statements, and executive reports Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions Lead the implementation of Xero and establish accounting processes and financial controls Manage payroll oversight, compliance, and financial governance Develop and improve finance systems, workflows, and internal processes Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and financial regulations Review reconciliations, general ledger accuracy, and month-end close activities Support external accountants, auditors, and regulatory reporting Analyse financial performance, profitability, and business trends Build financial models and support strategic planning Provide guidance to bookkeeping or finance support staff when required Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification is highly regarded Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Financial Controller supporting an Australian business Proven experience managing the full finance function Experience implementing Xero and establishing accounting systems and financial processes Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and financial reporting requirements Experience managing payroll oversight and Australian payroll compliance Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management experience Experience using cloud accounting platforms such as: Xero MYOB Similar accounting software Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Experience improving finance systems and business processes Ability to work independently while collaborating with senior stakeholders High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail Nice to Have Experience in healthcare, allied health, wellness, or not-for-profit organisations Experience supporting growing SMEs or multi-site businesses Knowledge of Power BI or financial reporting dashboards Experience mentoring or leading finance team members Work Arrangement Fully remote role Part-time engagement (approximately 15–20 hours per week) Independent Contractor arrangement Flexible working hours with availability for occasional meetings during Australian business hours Opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and influence business strategy Successful candidates will be expected to: Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work Maintain transparency regarding current work commitments Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (where applicable) About Hunt St Hunt St connects Australian businesses with highly skilled remote professionals in the Philippines.
