Finance Officer (Remote) Location: Philippines (Remote) Employment Type: Full-Time Work Schedule: Australian Business Hours (Approx. 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday) Compensation Approx. PHP 60,000 per month (depending on experience) About the Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Finance Officer to support the day-to-day financial operations of an Australian organisation. This is a fully remote opportunity for a Philippines-based finance professional who has strong bookkeeping and accounting experience and enjoys working with accurate financial records, structured processes, and reporting requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team to support financial operations, maintain strong controls, and ensure accurate reporting across the organisation. About the Organisation Our client is a well-established faith-based organisation based in Melbourne, Australia. The organisation supports its local community through various programs, services, and outreach initiatives. They are looking for a reliable finance professional who values accuracy, integrity, and collaboration, and who can help strengthen their financial processes and operations. Key Responsibilities Process day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable Prepare, issue, and manage customer invoices while ensuring accurate billing and collections Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Assist with monthly financial reporting and management reports Support budgeting activities and financial tracking Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related records Support month-end and year-end financial close processes Prepare journals, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations Support external accountants and auditors with required financial information Maintain organised filing systems and ensure records are audit-ready Monitor cash flow and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions Assist with financial analysis and reporting requirements Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and Australian accounting practices Provide finance and administrative support across operational teams when required Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and operational efficiency Requirements 3+ years of experience in a Finance Officer, Bookkeeper, Assistant Accountant, or similar finance role Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles Experience using cloud accounting software such as: Xero MYOB QuickBooks Similar accounting platforms Strong knowledge of: Accounts payable (AP) Accounts receivable (AR) Bank reconciliations General ledger management Financial reporting Experience supporting month-end financial processes Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, reconciliations, and reporting High attention to detail and accuracy Strong organisational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment Proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills Nice to Have Experience using expense management platforms such as Weel or similar tools Previous experience working with: Churches Faith-based organisations Ministries Not-for-profit organisations Understanding of church operations, governance, and community-focused environments Experience supporting Australian businesses or organisations Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and GST requirements Payroll processing experience Experience with budgeting and cash flow forecasting Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, or financial reporting tools Accounting qualification or ongoing accounting studies Experience improving finance processes or implementing new systems Work Arrangement Fully remote role Full-time position aligned with Australian business hours Employment through an Employer of Record (EOR) arrangement Opportunity to work directly with an Australian organisation Successful candidates will be expected to: Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work Maintain transparency regarding current work commitments Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile About Hunt St Hunt St helps Australian companies connect with talented remote professionals in the Philippines.
