Job Description Business Development Manager The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the company’s growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities, leading client engagement, and managing project development initiatives within the solar energy industry. This role plays a key part in expanding the company’s EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), PPA (Power Purchase Agreements), and O\&M (Operations and Maintenance) portfolio. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, capable of managing the full business development cycle from opportunity identification to project award. Key Responsibilities Business Growth \& Strategy Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives. Identify new markets, clients, and project opportunities in the solar and renewable energy sectors. Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to support strategic decision-making. Market Research \& Analysis Lead market and feasibility studies for potential solar projects. Analyze commercial, financial, and technical data to evaluate project viability. Prepare strategic reports, forecasts, and recommendations for senior management. Client Acquisition \& Relationship Management Lead client engagement, negotiations, and contract discussions for EPC, PPA, and O\&M projects. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, investors, partners, and stakeholders. Oversee the preparation and presentation of proposals, bids, and commercial offers. Sales \& Project Development Manage the sales pipeline and ensure timely conversion of opportunities into awarded projects. Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, and operations teams to develop competitive and compliant proposals. Support contract finalization, project handover, and post-award coordination. Strategic Partnerships \& Representation Establish and manage partnerships with government agencies, developers, suppliers, and financial institutions. Represent the company in high-level meetings, industry events, conferences, and business forums. Support joint ventures, alliances, and long-term partnership initiatives. Team Leadership \& Reporting Provide guidance and mentorship to business development officers and junior team members. Set performance targets and monitor team progress against KPIs. Prepare management reports on pipeline status, revenue projections, and business performance. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications are an advantage. Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or project development. Proven experience in the renewable energy, solar EPC, infrastructure, or construction industry is highly preferred. Demonstrated success in closing EPC, PPA, or O\&M projects.
