UK Accounts & Tax Manager (Company Tax Focus) Remote in Metro Manila | Full-time contractor | ₱110,000–₱150,000 per month ABOUT SC TAX SC Tax is a growing firm of UK Chartered Tax Advisers and Accountants with offices in Salisbury and Winchester. We support individuals, owner-managed businesses and growing companies across the UK with accounts, corporation tax, personal tax, VAT, payroll and wider business advice. As we build our long-term team in the Philippines, we are looking for an experienced UK Accounts & Tax Manager based in Metro Manila. THE ROLE You will manage a portfolio of UK clients and take assignments from records through to client-ready completion. Your work should be accurate, commercially sensible and require minimal correction before final approval. The role will have a strong company accounts and corporation tax focus, while also requiring practical personal tax and general UK accountancy experience. You will communicate directly with clients, answer routine accounts and tax questions, request missing information, manage deadlines and help maintain the high standard of service expected from SC Tax. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review UK statutory accounts for limited companies under FRS 102 and FRS 105. Prepare corporation tax computations and CT600 returns, identifying adjustments, planning points and issues requiring senior attention. Produce client-ready accounts and tax work with clear supporting schedules and minimal review points. Manage assignments from initial records through queries, completion, client approval and filing. Communicate directly and confidently with UK clients by email, telephone and video call. Prepare or review self-assessment tax returns for directors, shareholders, sole traders, landlords and other individuals. Review bookkeeping records and resolve accounting issues before accounts preparation. Support VAT returns, management accounts and other recurring compliance work where required. Monitor Companies House and HMRC deadlines and maintain accurate workflow records. Explain accounts and tax matters clearly to clients without unnecessary technical language. Identify tax-planning opportunities, risks and unusual transactions and escalate them appropriately. Support and review the work of more junior team members as the Philippines team grows. Follow SC Tax’s quality-control, data-security and client-confidentiality procedures. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR At least five years of relevant accounting and tax experience, including substantial experience with UK clients or within a UK accountancy practice. Strong practical knowledge of UK limited-company accounts and corporation tax. Experience preparing UK statutory accounts and CT600 returns from source records through to completion. Solid personal tax experience, including preparation of UK self-assessment returns. The ability to produce work that is ready to send to clients following SC Tax’s agreed review and approval procedures. Proven experience managing client queries, deadlines and multiple assignments. Excellent written and spoken English and confidence communicating directly with UK business owners. Strong technical judgement, attention to detail and the ability to recognise when an issue should be escalated. Experience using modern cloud accounting and UK accounts-production or tax software. A reliable computer, stable internet connection and a suitable private home-working environment. Availability for regular overlap with the UK working day, normally around 1pm–10pm Philippine time. HELPFUL BUT NOT ESSENTIAL ACA, ACCA, CTA, ATT, Philippine CPA or another relevant professional qualification. Experience with Xero and common UK practice-management, accounts-production and tax software. Experience reviewing the work of junior accountants. Knowledge of VAT, payroll, management accounts, sole traders, partnerships, trusts or capital gains tax. Experience working remotely for a UK accountancy or tax practice.
