Job Title: Bookkeeper – AU Client Shared Services Location: Philippines Reports to: Financial Controller(AU Based) Employment Type: Full-time Shift: AU business hours alignment (typically early morning to mid-afternoon PH time, to overlap with AEST/AEDT) Position Summary The Bookkeeper will provide end-to-end bookkeeping support to Australian-based clients as part of a shared services delivery model. This role requires strong working knowledge of Australian accounting practices, GST/BAS obligations, and AU-standard software platforms, combined with the ability to manage multiple client accounts in a fast-paced offshore environment. Key Responsibilities Process day-to-day transactions (AP/AR, bank feeds, general ledger entries) across multiple AU client accounts Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations in line with AU reporting standards Prepare and lodge/support preparation of BAS (Business Activity Statements) and IAS (Instalment Activity Statements) Manage simple AU payroll processing, including superannuation, PAYG withholding, and STP (Single Touch Payroll) compliance Issue client invoices and manage debtor follow-up in AUD Process supplier payments and manage creditor accounts Maintain chart of accounts and general ledger for each assigned client Prepare monthly management reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for AU stakeholders Liaise directly with AU-based clients, account managers, and external accountants via email/video call Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and ATO requirements Support AU tax agents/accountants during EOFY (End of Financial Year) processes Maintain data security and confidentiality per AU privacy standards (Privacy Act) and company policy Escalate discrepancies or compliance risks promptly to the AU-based supervisor Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years bookkeeping experience, with prior exposure to Australian clients or AU accounting standards highly preferred Proficiency in Xero (required/preferred), plus MYOB and/or QuickBooks Working knowledge of GST, BAS, PAYG, Superannuation, and STP Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliation formats) Excellent written and verbal English communication (client-facing role) Experience working in a BPO/shared services or outsourced accounting environment is a plus Key Attributes Comfortable working AU business hours/shifted schedule Culturally adaptable — understands AU business communication norms High attention to detail; strong sense of ownership over client accounts Able to manage multiple clients/deadlines simultaneously Trustworthy with sensitive financial and personal data Proactive communicator, comfortable flagging issues early
