Role Overview We are seeking a highly experienced, technically grounded Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead complex, enterprise-level cloud migration and application modernization initiatives. Positioned at the center of our technical delivery operations, this role demands someone who can seamlessly bridge the gap between high-level strategic leadership and deep, low-level technical execution. The ideal candidate has a strong background managing VMware-based platforms (VCF, DSM), executing complex database migration strategies, and driving application modernization frameworks. You will directly steer engineering leads, DevOps teams, enterprise architects, and client-side executive stakeholders to ensure every phase of migration is planned, governed, and delivered with absolute precision. Key Responsibilities End-to-End Migration Delivery: Lead the planning and execution of enterprise cloud migration and application modernization programs, covering both database and application layers. Technical Governance: Ensure all project deliverables align strictly with technical architecture and platform constraints, particularly VMware VCF and DSM environments. Architecture Alignment: Drive low-level project tracking for database migrations (rehost, replatform, refactor strategies) and application modernization (monolith to microservices transitions). Cross-Functional Management: Coordinate and manage cross-functional technical teams including Platform Engineers, DevOps, Systems Architects, QA, and client stakeholders. Risk \& Rollback Planning: Identify and proactively mitigate high-consequence risks related to migration complexity, production downtime windows, data integrity, and rollback planning. Project Health Monitoring: Own project scope, timelines, dependencies, and budget—translating technical constraints into executive-level KPIs and status reports. Delivery Model Support: Enforce governance, compliance, and change management processes throughout the project lifecycle, supporting resource planning and phased ramp-downs in alignment with BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) delivery models. Required Skills \& Experience 1\. Core Technical Background (Hands-On Experience Required) Strong infrastructure and cloud platform knowledge, with VMware vSphere and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments being highly preferred. Proven experience managing database migration pipelines using rehost, replatform, and refactor strategies. Solid structural understanding of relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle. Hands-on program familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines), and modern containerized software delivery workflows. 2\. Program Leadership \& Management 5\+ years of dedicated experience in Technical Project or Program Management, specifically delivering complex IT infrastructure initiatives. Demonstrated experience guiding application modernization initiatives, including monolith-to-microservices transitions. Proven ability to independently drive decisions, enforce team accountability, and manage distributed global delivery teams across time zones. Exceptional stakeholder management skills—capable of translating low-level technical complexity into commercial business terms for executive leadership. Preferred / Nice to Have Direct experience with VMware Data Services Manager (DSM). Hands-on exposure to public cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Operational knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools like Terraform and Ansible. Professional certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, Agile (Certified Scrum Master, SAFe). VMware certifications (VCF, vSphere, or related core infrastructure credentials).
