Job Description The Senior Infrastructure Engineer designs, implements, and manages the IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical systems. This role demands technical expertise, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to mentor junior team members. Responsibilities include setting policies and directing the deployment of networking, routing, switching, security appliances, and remote access infrastructure. The engineer also ensures adherence to best practices and conducts regular compliance checks. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization platforms. Set policies and direction for network, routing, switching, security appliances, and remote access deployment. Proactively monitor infrastructure performance and capacity, implementing optimization measures as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, minimizing downtime and service disruptions. Ensure systems and network security, develop secure architectures and policies. Conduct regular audits and assessments for compliance. Follow up with suppliers on installation or maintenance issues. Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Stay abreast of emerging infrastructure technologies and trends, recommending and implementing innovative solutions. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior infrastructure engineers. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of IT systems. Support internal and external security and compliance audits. Make timely and effective decisions based on sound judgement. Implement industry best practices for network security optimization and performance tuning. Key Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5\+ years of experience in a similar role, managing complex IT infrastructures. Strong expertise in server administration (Windows Server, Linux), networking technologies, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V). Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices. Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Leadership skills to drive collaboration and trust within the IT Team. Relevant certifications are highly desirable. Strong analytical skills to evaluate security requirements and implement best practices. Capability to make timely and effective decisions based on sound business rationale.
