Role Description This is a part-time, remote Senior Accountant role responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will manage the general ledger, prepare and review journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes. This role will prepare financial statements, analyze variances, monitor cash flow, and support budgeting and forecasting activities. The Senior Accountant will maintain compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, coordinate with external auditors, and recommend improvements to financial policies and internal controls. The role will also partner with cross-functional teams, providing clear financial insights to support decision-making in a fast-paced, growing retail and e-commerce environment. Qualifications Strong general accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close. Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis, including preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS), tax compliance principles, and internal control practices. Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP software, advanced Excel skills, and comfort working with data and reports. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote, part-time environment. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance partners. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred. Previous experience in a senior or lead accounting role; experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer products is a plus.
