AI Strategy & Governance Specialist

Job Description

California Recovery Center (CRC) is seeking an AI Strategy & Governance Specialist to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's artificial intelligence strategy. This role will serve as CRC's internal subject matter expert on AI, helping identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, employee productivity, client experience, compliance, knowledge management, cybersecurity, and decision-making through the responsible use of AI technologies. The AI Strategy & Governance Specialist will work across all departments to evaluate emerging AI tools, oversee pilots and implementations, establish governance standards, monitor regulatory developments, develop AI policies, train staff, and ensure that CRC's AI initiatives align with business objectives, security requirements, ethical standards, and applicable laws. Reporting through the Innovations Department, this position functions as a cross-functional advisor and specialist, helping coordinate, align, and advance CRC's AI initiatives across departments while supporting the organization's AI Everywhere strategy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities AI Strategy & Roadmap Development Develop and maintain CRC's organizational AI strategy and multi-year roadmap. Identify department-specific opportunities for AI adoption and automation. Partner with leadership to prioritize AI initiatives based on business value, feasibility, risk, and return on investment. Build implementation plans, success metrics, and adoption targets for AI programs. Evaluate emerging technologies and determine their applicability to CRC's operations. AI Implementation & Operations Lead AI proof-of-concepts, pilots, and production deployments. Partner with department leaders to redesign workflows utilizing AI. Manage AI projects from discovery through implementation and adoption. Identify opportunities to automate repetitive administrative tasks. Collaborate with IT, Operations, HR, Finance, Marketing, Clinical, and Admissions teams on AI-enabled solutions. AI Governance, Risk, & Compliance Develop and maintain AI governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures. Establish guidelines for acceptable use of AI throughout the organization. Monitor evolving AI regulations, legislation, industry standards, and emerging risks. Conduct AI risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies. Ensure AI initiatives comply with applicable privacy, security, healthcare, labor, and data governance requirements. Maintain documentation of AI systems, use cases, approvals, and risk reviews. Support organizational readiness for future AI-related audits and compliance reviews. Security & Responsible AI Partner with IT and cybersecurity stakeholders to evaluate AI-related security risks. Assess third-party AI vendors and platforms. Promote responsible, ethical, and transparent AI usage throughout the organization. Develop safeguards against inappropriate handling of confidential, client, employee, or proprietary information. Establish standards for human oversight and review of AI-generated outputs. Change Management & Training Create and deliver AI training programs for staff and leadership. Develop AI learning resources, SOPs, playbooks, and best-practice guides. Serve as an internal consultant and advisor on AI adoption. Foster an organizational culture of innovation and responsible experimentation. Measure adoption, utilization, and effectiveness of AI initiatives. Analytics & Performance Measurement Track AI adoption rates, productivity gains, and business outcomes. Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms to measure AI impact. Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership. Continuously identify opportunities to improve AI-enabled workflows. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Technology Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience 3+ years of experience in technology, business systems, digital transformation, process improvement, automation, or AI-related work Demonstrated understanding of generative AI technologies and large language models.
