American Power Solutions (APS) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC/Plumbing) to support residential and commercial building projects across California. If you're passionate about designing efficient mechanical systems, thrive in a remote work environment, and have experience with California MEP standards, we'd love to hear from you. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will: Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for residential and commercial projects in California. Perform HVAC load calculations and equipment selection, including mini-splits, heat pumps, air handlers, and related systems. Develop duct routing layouts and plumbing/drainage system designs. Prepare complete mechanical construction documents, legends, schedules, and detailed plan sets using AutoCAD or Revit. Coordinate with a US-licensed Engineer of Record (EOR) for plan review and stamping. Collaborate with the US engineering team and participate in meetings during California business hours. Manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality engineering solutions on schedule.
