Job Description

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for overseeing the full financial function of the organisation across multiple entities, ensuring compliance with Australian regulatory requirements, accurate reporting, payroll management, NDIS budget alignment and financial governance. This is a remote role requiring strong autonomy, accountability and attention to detail. MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Financial Management End-to-end accounting across multiple entities Bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring Monthly management reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) End-of-month accruals and journal entries (wages accrual, income in advance, PLSL, WorkCover, etc.) Year-end reconciliations and audit preparation Budget preparation and financial forecasting 2. Payroll & Workforce Compliance Fortnightly payroll processing under SCHADS Award Award interpretation (Home Care & SACS streams) Overtime, sleepover and penalty rate compliance Superannuation processing (quarterly compliance deadlines) Portable Long Service Leave reporting WorkCover reconciliations and annual estimates 3. Revenue & Receivables Invoicing (weekly / twice weekly cycles) Aged receivables follow-up Revenue tracking by service line (NDIS, Accident Care, Aged Care) 4. NDIS Financial Management Monitoring participant budgets against NDIS Price Guide SIL budget modelling and Roster of Care (ROC) costing Invoice preparation and claims reconciliation Irregular support tracking Ensuring service delivery aligns with funding categories 5. Participant Financial Assessment & Intake Analysis Review new participant funding plans and assess financial suitability prior to onboarding Analyse NDIS budgets to determine service feasibility and sustainability Conduct preliminary Roster of Care (ROC) cost modelling Assess staffing ratios and projected support costs Identify funding risks, shortfalls, or overutilisation risks Provide financial recommendations to Intake and Operations teams Support pricing decisions for SIL and community participation services Ensure new participants align with business cost structures and capacity. 6. Roster, Funding Alignment & Revenue Assurance Review and restructure participant rosters when new plans or funding changes occur Model revised roster structures to maintain financial sustainability Oversee timesheet approval processes prior to payroll and claims submission Implement financial controls to ensure rostered hours align with revenue targets Review billable hours prior to invoicing across new states 7. Service Agreements & Funding Documentation Prepare and issue updated Service Agreements when new NDIS plans are approved Ensure agreements reflect approved support categories, hours and pricing Align Service Agreements with Roster of Care (ROC) structures Verify funding allocations before issuing agreements Ensure compliance with NDIS Price Guide and service booking requirements Coordinate with Intake and Operations to finalise agreement terms Maintain accurate records of signed agreements prior to service commencement Qualifications / REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field CPA / CA / ACCA (completed or in progress preferred) Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards Understanding of SCHADS Award and Fair Work compliance Experience working with healthcare or disability providers preferred EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in accounting or finance Demonstrated experience working with Australian companies and compliance frameworks Strong knowledge of Australian taxation, superannuation, and payroll obligations Experience in managing multiple entities preferred Payroll experience under Modern Awards (particularly SCHADS Award) Experience with Xero is a must Strong financial analysis and modelling skills Advanced Excel proficiency High attention to detail Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks Ability to work independently in a remote environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and deadline management skills Commercial mindset with risk awareness Job Type: Full-time Pay: Php400.00 per hour Benefits Paid training Work from home Application Question(s): Do you have experience using Xero?
