We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team supporting New Zealand construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, tender submissions, and pricing proposals for commercial and residential projects specializing in Plasterboard Linings, Steel Framing, Insulation, Painting, Barrierline IT Wall Systems, Weatherline Systems, and Fibre Cement Linings . The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction methods, and experience interpreting architectural and construction drawings to produce competitive and accurate tenders. Key Responsibilities Review architectural, structural, and construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Perform detailed quantity take-offs and material measurements. Prepare accurate cost estimates, tender pricing, and bid submissions. Measure and estimate works related to: Plasterboard wall and ceiling linings Steel stud framing systems Thermal and acoustic insulation Interior and exterior painting Barrierline IT wall systems Weatherline exterior systems Fibre cement linings and cladding Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations. Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost breakdowns, and pricing schedules. Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Identify project risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities. Assist in preparing tender clarifications and post-tender negotiations. Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records. Work closely with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing. Meet tender deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years of estimating experience within the construction industry. Experience with New Zealand construction projects is highly preferred. Strong understanding of wall and ceiling systems, interior fit-outs, and finishing trades. Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Advanced). Experience using estimating software such as: Bluebeam Revu Planswift CostX Cubit Other quantity take-off and estimating platforms Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and services drawings. Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Key Competencies Quantity take-offs and measurement expertise.
