Job Description

Part-Time | 20 hours per week | 4hrs a day | Amsterdam Timezone, 1–5 PM About The Role We’re looking for an experienced Creative Strategist with exceptional copywriting ability and a filmmaker’s intuition. We’re looking for someone who understands people, storytelling, advertising and performance creativity at a deep level. You should be able to look at a customer insight and immediately start thinking: What’s the story here? What’s the emotional tension? What’s the hook? What would make someone stop scrolling? How should we show this visually? What would make this feel authentic to a tradesman? You need both strategic and creative thinking, someone who can understand the customer at a psychological level while also having the visual instincts of a filmmaker. You’ll own the process from customer research → insight → concept → copy → storyboard → production → testing → iteration. What We’re Looking For Must Have ● Several years of real-world creative strategy experience● Strong professional copywriting experience● Proven experience creating performance advertising● Deep understanding of customer psychology● Strong storytelling ability● Experience creating video ad concepts and scripts● Excellent English, near-native written and spoken ability● Strong understanding of U.S. consumer language and culture● Experience with Meta advertising creative● Ability to conduct deep customer research● Ability to analyze competitor advertising● Excellent project management skills● Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment● Strong attention to detail Especially Valuable ● Experience in DTC, e-commerce, supplements, fitness, nutrition or similar consumer brands● Experience marketing to blue-collar or working-class audiences● Experience working with UGC and performance creative● Strong filmmaking or video production background● Experience adapting creative across multiple markets● Experience developing creative testing frameworks● Experience working closely with editors and creative production teams● Experience building intelligent AI/automation workflows What You’ll Be Responsible For Customer & Market Research ● Research target customers and their real-world experiences● Identify their pains, frustrations, desires, motivations and objections● Study how real customers actually talk about work, energy, performance, recovery and supplementation● Pull language and insights from real customer conversations● Research Reddit discussions and relevant online communities● Analyze verified customer reviews and competitors● Study competitor and adjacent-industry advertising● Use Meta Ads Library to identify winning creative concepts and patterns● Turn research into actionable creative angles Creative Strategy & Concept Development You should be able to identify why a concept worked and then determine how to strategically expand, challenge or evolve it. Creative angles may include: ● New hooks● New customer insights● Different pain points● Different emotional triggers● New mechanisms● New story structures● Product-focused concepts● Founder/brand storytelling● Customer stories● Educational concepts● Objection handling● Social proof● Lifestyle/workplace scenarios● Variations of proven winners Storyboarding & Creative Briefs You’ll turn your ideas into clear, actionable production briefs. Each brief should bring together: ● Core creative concept● Customer insight● Target audience● Hook● Script● Story structure● B-roll direction● Visual treatment● On-screen text● CTA● References/examples● Production notes● Testing hypothesis We want someone with filmmaker’s intuition and experience working with a creative team, someone who doesn’t just write a script but can visualize the finished ad. You should naturally think about: ● What the viewer sees● What they hear● Pacing● Shot selection● B-roll● Visual hooks● Transitions● Story progression● Where attention may drop● How to make an idea feel authentic rather than overly produced Expert-Level Copywriting You must be a strong copywriter first, not someone who depends on AI to write. You should be able to independently create: ● Scroll-stopping hooks● Direct-response scripts● UGC concepts● Product-focused messaging● Emotional storytelling● Benefit-driven copy● Objection handling● CTAs● Short-form advertising scripts Your copy needs to sound like a real human talking to another real human. Especially for this role, understanding the language and mindset of the blue-collar customer is critical. We don’t want copy that sounds generic. We want copy that sounds like something a real tradesman would actually say, believe and respond to. AI Philosophy We intentionally want limited AI usage in this role. We’re looking for someone whose creative ability comes from experience, observation, research and judgment, not from prompting AI. You may use AI when you’ve developed an agentic workflow, automation or custom skill that genuinely improves your process or produces a better-quality outcome. AI should amplify your expertise, not replace it. Multi-Region Creative Adaptation Our customers can speak very differently across regions, and you must understand that effective localization is about much more than translation. You should be able to adapt: ● Language● Tone● Cultural references● Customer pain points● Desires● Humor● Expressions● Buying motivations● Product positioning We’ll initially focus heavily on the U.S. market, so strong familiarity with American culture and consumer language is important. You should be able to take one winning concept and make it feel native to the market you’re targeting. Work With Copywriters & Video Editors You’ll work closely with the creative production team to turn strategy into finished ads. You’ll: ● Collaborate with copywriters● Write the ads yourself, including the variations● Brief video editors● Review creative drafts● Give specific, actionable feedback● Ensure creative matches the original strategic concept● Identify opportunities to improve execution● Help maintain a consistent creative standard● Move projects quickly through production You should be able to explain why something isn’t working, rather than simply saying “make it better.” Creative Performance & Project Management This is a high-output environment. You’ll help manage the creative pipeline from: Research → Strategy → Brief → Production → Review → Launch → Performance → Iteration You’ll be responsible for: ● Tracking creative output● Managing multiple concepts simultaneously● Maintaining deadlines● Tracking iterations● Monitoring winning concepts● Documenting creative learnings● Using performance data to inform future concepts● Communicating blockers quickly● Keeping the creative team organized You Probably Aren’t a Fit If… This role is not for someone who: ● Recently started calling themselves a Creative Strategist because AI made it easier to produce ads● Relies heavily on ChatGPT for copywriting● Cannot produce strong copy independently● Writes generic or obviously AI-generated marketing copy● Has little understanding of direct-response advertising● Has never deeply researched customers● Doesn’t regularly study advertising● Thinks creative strategy is just coming up with hooks● Doesn’t understand visual storytelling● Cannot explain why an ad works● Relies on literal translation when adapting creative● Struggles with American conversational English● Isn’t comfortable working quickly and managing high creative volume We’re looking for a seasoned creative thinker, not someone learning creative strategy on the job. What Success Looks Like Within this role, success means helping build a repeatable, scalable creative engine capable of producing high-quality performance creatively consistently. The goal is to consistently find new ways to make the right customer stop, pay attention, believe us, and ultimately buy. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape the creative strategy and systems that support the brand’s next phase. If you’re an experienced strategist who loves great copy, great storytelling, performance marketing and understanding why people buy, this could be a great fit.
