Our team of 30+ spans Perth and the Philippines, and we work as an embedded finance team for small and medium businesses across Australia - We don't just keep the books. We help business owners understand their numbers, plan ahead, and make better decisions. That starts with great work from great bookkeepers - You'll manage a portfolio of Australian clients across different industries - keeping their Xero files accurate, handling compliance obligations, and building relationships where clients genuinely trust your judgment - This isn't a heads-down data entry role. You'll communicate directly with clients, spot issues before they escalate, and look for ways to make the work better - for them and for you. This is a role for someone who loves to learn, grow, apply their understanding and improve Day to day, you'll: - Keep client accounts in Xero accurate and up to date - Innovate and streamline workflows - Reconcile accounts in line with each client's agreement - Enter bills and receipts, schedule and process supplier payments - Prepare BAS, SGC statements, and other Australian compliance reporting - Reconcile balance sheets including intercompany accounts and loans - Prepare management reports and highlight insights for business owners - Work with connected apps like Dext, Fathom, and others - Communicate directly with clients - by phone and in writing - to keep things moving - Stay current on Australian accounting requirements What we're looking for - You don't wait to be told what needs doing. You manage your own workload, meet your deadlines ahead of schedule (not on the last day), and you're already thinking about what comes next for each client. You're also someone who: - Communicates clearly and confidently with Australians - in writing and over the phone - Asks good questions and works through problems proactively - Manages your time well and follows through on what you say you'll do - Actively looks for ways to improve how you work, not just ways to get through it - Helps teammates without being asked, and enjoys being part of a team that wins together - Is genuinely curious about business - not just the numbers, but what they mean - keeps good timesheets records, communicates openly, talks about their mistakes so others don't make the same ones, and learns from them Experience we need: - 3-5 years as a qualified accountant or bookkeeper, ideally in a BPO or public practice environment - At least 2 years working with Australian clients - 2-5 years using Xero (XPM experience a plus) - If you haven't worked with Australian clients or used Xero, this role isn't the right fit - feel free to apply for other positions - What you'll get - Pay in line with your experience - Flexible hours (Perth timezone aligns well with Manila) - Work from home - Internet allowance - 30 days PTO per year - Ongoing training and education - A team that takes culture seriously - and means it
