We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Copy Editor to join our fast-paced digital newsroom. This is a full-time remote position supporting a UK-based publication during overnight Philippine hours. The ideal candidate has a strong background in digital publishing, excellent editorial judgment, and a passion for producing accurate, engaging, and SEO-friendly content. You will work closely with writers and the editorial team to edit, optimise, and publish news articles while maintaining the highest editorial standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives under deadlines and is comfortable working during graveyard hours. Location: Remote (Work from Home) Shift: Graveyard Shift (1:00 AM – 8:00 AM Philippine Time) Key Responsibilities Edit, proofread, and publish articles covering breaking news, trending topics, and evergreen content. Ensure all content is accurate, well-structured, grammatically correct, and aligned with editorial guidelines. Write and optimise headlines, subheadings, and introductions for SEO and audience engagement. Maintain consistency in tone, style, and formatting across all published content. Fact-check information and identify potential legal or editorial issues before publication. Collaborate with writers and editors to improve article quality and readability. Monitor breaking news and assist with timely publication of content during the assigned shift. Ensure articles meet SEO best practices and publication standards. Occasionally rewrite or update syndicated and freelance content when required. Qualifications Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in a publication, news, or digital media environment. Strong background in SEO, keyword optimisation, and digital publishing. Excellent command of written English, with strong knowledge of British English grammar, spelling, and style. Experience editing news articles under tight deadlines. Familiarity with UK news, current affairs, and audience preferences. Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Must be available to work the Graveyard Shift (1:00 AM – 8:00 AM Philippine Time), Monday to Friday . Preferred Qualifications Experience using content management systems such as WordPress. Knowledge of media law, copyright, and ethical journalism. Experience editing lifestyle, entertainment, technology, or business news is an advantage. What We're Looking For Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
