We are looking for a operations hands-on, detail-driven internal finance person to fully own the finance role. This is not a role for an agency or team — we’re hiring an individual contributor who can handle both the daily bookkeeping operations, accounting tasks and the operational oversight of our operations. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end financial processes, delivering strategic financial insights, and driving profitability through data-driven analysis. The role requires strong analytical capability and the ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Leadership teams.The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial operations and reporting, support business decision-making, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation, AI and process enhancement. Key Responsibilities 1. Commercial Analysis & Profit Optimization (Primary Focus) Conduct in-depth analysis of financial, sales, marketing, and product data to identify revenue opportunities and margin improvement areas. Evaluate pricing models, unit economics, customer-level profitability, and cost structures. Collaborate with functional leads to drive commercial insights and implement corrective actions where needed. Develop dashboards and analytical tools to support management decision-making. 2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Lead the month-end close process including reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and management reporting. Prepare budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial models. Deliver monthly management reports focusing on insights, trends, and recommended actions. Support leadership with scenario planning, strategic initiatives, and operational reviews. 3. Financial Operations & Automation Oversee daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity across systems such as WooCommerce, Bill.com, and QuickBooks Online. Develop workflow logic and partner with operations/technology teams to automate recurring processes and reduce manual workload. Maintain high-quality financial data through reconciliations, audit checks, and system integrations. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes using automation tools. 4. Continuous Improvement & Learning Stay informed on industry standards, financial best practices, automation tools, and AI-driven finance advancements. Recommend process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Demonstrate a proactive and growth-oriented mindset in a fast-paced environment. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Year-over-year EBITDA growth and improved financial performance. Reduction of manual financial processes to less than 4 hours per week. Completion of month-end closing within 3 business days. Forecast accuracy within acceptable variance thresholds. Effective identification and resolution of margin or operational inefficiencies. Qualifications & Experience Required: 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Accounting, or related roles. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills. Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Bill.com) and advanced spreadsheet skills. Experience working with cross-functional teams and supporting strategic initiatives. Strong attention to detail, data validation, and problem-solving skills. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline. Financial modeling skills or familiarity with Business intelligence concepts Experience in eCommerce, technology or high-growth business environments. Experience with AI or automation tools such as Zapier, Make, etc. Understanding of financial data workflows and system integrations.
