Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper Location: Remote Schedule 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm Queensland Time Role Overview This role supports a bookkeeping and CFO services firm by working closely with Samantha and the wider accounting team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The primary purpose is to build team capacity by taking ownership of bookkeeping delivery across multiple client accounts, reducing operational bottlenecks, and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time. The successful candidate will independently manage a portfolio of bookkeeping clients, proactively identify issues and discrepancies, and contribute to improving workflow efficiency across the business. You will work remotely as part of an integrated team using multiple systems and tools to manage financial records, reconciliations, and client deliverables. This role is critical in improving efficiency, maintaining compliance standards, and supporting high-quality client outcomes. Key Responsibilities Multi-Client Bookkeeping Management Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities across multiple client accounts Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are coded correctly Process and review client financial data in accordance with established procedures Prioritise workload across multiple entities while meeting agreed deadlines Independently manage a portfolio of bookkeeping clients with minimal supervision Identify bookkeeping issues, process inefficiencies, and discrepancies before they impact client deliverables Maintain high levels of accuracy while managing competing priorities across multiple client entities Bank Reconciliations \& Financial Processing Complete bank, credit card, and clearing account reconciliations with accuracy Reconcile payment platforms including Shopify, Stripe, PayPal, and similar systems Investigate and resolve discrepancies, variances, and outstanding transactions Maintain clean and accurate balance sheet accounts Accounts Payable \& Accounts Receivable Manage supplier invoices, payment processing, and accounts payable workflows Monitor accounts receivable, customer invoicing, and outstanding balances Process multi-currency transactions and invoices accurately Ensure supporting documentation is complete and properly maintained BAS Preparation \& Compliance Support Prepare BAS-ready files and supporting documentation for review Apply correct GST coding and treatment across client transactions Follow firm procedures, checklists, and quality assurance processes Maintain accurate records to support compliance and reporting requirements Client \& Team Coordination Provide clear updates on task progress, deadlines, and outstanding items Follow up with clients for missing documentation and required information Escalate issues, risks, or technical questions appropriately Maintain accurate workflow updates within practice management systems Required Skills \& Experience Minimum 5\+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within an Australian bookkeeping firm, accounting practice, or outsourced finance environment Formal accounting qualification with strong Australian bookkeeping knowledge, including GST coding Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyse financial data efficiently Xero Certified Advisor status (required) Advanced proficiency in Xero, including daily hands-on usage Demonstrated experience managing multiple client entities simultaneously Strong written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and competing priorities Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote environment Preferred Skills Experience using Karbon practice management software Experience with MYOB, QuickBooks, Dext, or Hubdoc Payroll experience including Australian award interpretation and Single Touch Payroll Experience working within a bookkeeping, CFO advisory, or outsourced accounting services firm Experience supporting e-commerce businesses Experience supporting digital agency, SaaS, or professional services clients Experience supporting CFO, advisory, digital agency, ecommerce, or SaaS environments Tools \& Software Proficiency Core Accounting Systems (Must-have): Xero Practice Management \& Workflow: Karbon Accounting \& Finance Tools: MYOB, QuickBooks, Dext, Hubdoc Payment \& Commerce Platforms: Shopify, Stripe, PayPal Communication \& Collaboration: Slack Productivity \& Documentation: Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Advanced Excel
