We are building an ambitious AI-powered fintech and proptech company for the Philippine market. The successful engineer will receive meaningful early-stage equity, direct influence over the product and architecture, and the opportunity to grow into Head of Engineering as the company expands. For the first 3–4 months, this will be a full-time, equity-only role. After this period, the position is intended to transition into a competitive salary, continued equity and, as the company grows, a highly compensated engineering leadership role. Startup equity is not guaranteed to have value, but if Estra reaches its long-term potential, the upside could be substantial and potentially life-changing and worth millions of dollars. The Role We are looking for a highly capable, hands-on Lead Engineer to take ownership of our existing platform and lead its next stage of development. You will work directly with the founders and have influence over: Product and technical architecture Frontend, backend and database development Platform reliability, security and scalability Engineering standards and testing Technical hiring and future team leadership The long-term technology direction of the company Full proprietary product details will only be shared with shortlisted candidates. Technology Stack Frontend: Next.js and TypeScript Backend: NestJS and TypeScript Database: Supabase and PostgreSQL What We Need You should have strong experience with: Next.js, NestJS and TypeScript PostgreSQL and Supabase APIs, authentication and secure data handling Complex business logic and data-heavy systems Automated testing and production deployments Debugging issues across frontend, backend and database layers Making practical architecture decisions in an early-stage environment Experience in fintech, banking, lending, PropTech, AI integrations or recommendation systems would be highly valuable.
