– QuickBooks Online Cleanup & Ongoing Bookkeeping Assured Transport Inc. | U.S.-Based Business | Remote Assured Transport Inc., a growing Florida-based transportation company, is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to complete a comprehensive cleanup of our financial records and then transition into an ongoing bookkeeping role. IMPORTANT: U.S. BOOKKEEPING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED This position requires strong, hands-on knowledge of U.S. accounting and bookkeeping practices . Candidates must have experience maintaining books for U.S.-based businesses. Minimum Requirements: At least 5 years of professional bookkeeping experience Extensive experience with U.S.-based companies Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online Strong experience with bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up projects Experience reconciling bank and credit card accounts Experience reviewing and correcting improperly categorized transactions Understanding of U.S. payroll, payroll liabilities, and payroll tax accounting Ability to reconcile loans, financing accounts, merchant processing, and other liabilities Ability to identify discrepancies and explain what needs to be corrected Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to communicate clearly with management and our CPA/tax professionals when necessary Phase 1 – Three-Year Bookkeeping Cleanup The initial engagement will be project-based, not weekly or hourly ongoing bookkeeping . We need approximately three years of books reviewed, reconciled, cleaned up, and brought current . The project may include: Bank and credit card reconciliations Transaction review and recategorization Accounts payable and accounts receivable review Payroll and payroll liability reconciliation Loan and financing account reconciliation Balance sheet cleanup Profit & Loss review Identification of duplicate, missing, or incorrectly entered transactions Correcting prior bookkeeping errors Preparing the books so they are accurate, current, and ready for management and tax professionals Candidates should be comfortable taking over books that may require significant cleanup rather than simply routine monthly maintenance . Compensation – Initial Cleanup The three-year cleanup will be paid by the project . Applicants should review the scope of work and provide a proposed fixed project price or milestone-based project price . We are looking for someone who can accurately assess the condition of the books before committing to a final cleanup price. Phase 2 – Ongoing Bookkeeping Upon successful completion of the cleanup, we intend to retain the right person for ongoing bookkeeping . The ongoing position will include: Monthly reconciliations Transaction categorization Accounts payable/receivable oversight Payroll accounting and reconciliation Monthly financial statement review Maintaining accurate QuickBooks records Identifying unusual transactions or discrepancies Keeping the books continuously current and ready for management review Ongoing bookkeeping compensation will transition to a biweekly payment schedule . We operate a growing fleet and work with schools, organizations, and other institutional clients. Because our business includes vehicles, fuel, payroll, insurance, financing, maintenance, and multiple revenue sources , we need a bookkeeper who understands a transaction-heavy operating business and can maintain clean, reliable financial records.
