About The Role • We manage a small, concentrated portfolio of publicly listed companies — and we're looking for an Investment Analyst to join us remotely from the Philippines. • This is a real research seat, not a data-entry or report-formatting job. You will read filings, build views, track positions, and write memos that identify what the market has missed about a specific business. We hold positions for two to three years against a clearly defined thesis, so your work has a direct impact on investment decisions. • We invest in three types of companies: • Software & SaaS — recurring revenue, high margins, durability of growth • Serial Acquirers — companies that grow by buying, where the question is whether acquisitions create value • Founder-Led Businesses — owner-operators where capital allocation and incentives are unusually important WHAT YOU'LL DO • Build and maintain an investable universe — a working library of 40+ companies screened on returns on capital, growth runway, and valuation. • Weekly monitoring brief on existing positions — track filings, earnings, competitor results, and management commentary. Flag anything that changes the thesis. • Write deep-dive research memos — full primary-source analysis on the best candidates from the universe. No volume quota; one outstanding memo beats six average ones. • Challenge ideas — including the Principal's. You are expected to argue. An analyst who agrees with everything adds nothing. • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Non-negotiable — we will not move forward without these: • You write clearly in English. Research is writing. Muddled writing is muddled thinking. • You are comfortable with financial statements. You can read a set of accounts, build a basic model, and explain the gap between reported profit and real cash generation. • You are genuinely interested in how businesses make money — not in trading, charts, or crypto. • You are honest about uncertainty. "I don't know — here's what I'd need to find out" is the right answer. Guessing confidently is not. • You are skeptical by default — of management, analysts, your own past conclusions, and us. • Nice to have — helpful but not required: • 1–4 years in equity research, credit, audit, financial analysis, KPO, or consulting • Finance, accounting, or economics degree — or CFA progress • Experience reading annual reports and earnings call transcripts • Personal investing account, however small • Also fine — if you can demonstrate the thinking: • No formal finance background at all. We care about what you can do, not where you did it before. If you've been teaching yourself this in your spare time and you can prove it in the application, apply.
