Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned Backend Developer with extensive experience in FastAPI and AWS to design, build, and maintain production-grade APIs. You will be responsible for the core logic of our systems, ensuring high performance, low latency, and seamless integration with frontend and third-party services. Key Responsibilities API Development: Architect and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices using FastAPI. Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy and manage services across the AWS ecosystem, specifically utilizing EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and Cognito . Asynchronous Processing: Implement and manage background tasks and distributed task queues using Celery or Temporal . System Design: Collaborate with the frontend team to define API contracts and ensure efficient data flow. Quality & DevOps: Write clean, testable, and maintainable code; support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing suites. Operations: Monitor production systems, handle incident responses, and perform root-cause analysis for backend issues. Required Skills & Experience Core Expertise: At least 3 + years of professional experience developing with FastAPI in a production environment. Python Mastery: Deep understanding of Python (3.9+), including Asynchronous Programming (async/await) and Type Hinting (Pydantic). AWS Proficiency: Hands-on experience with AWS deployment, serverless architectures (Lambda), and identity management (Cognito). Database Management: Solid experience with relational databases ( PostgreSQL/MySQL ) and NoSQL solutions ( MongoDB/DynamoDB ). DevOps Tools: Familiarity with Docker containerization and CI/CD workflows. Backend Best Practices: Strong knowledge of caching strategies ( Redis/Memcached ) and API security (OAuth2, JWT). Preferred Skills Experience with other Python frameworks like Flask or Django . Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka . Experience with monitoring and logging stacks ( Datadog, Prometheus, or ELK ). Ability to mentor junior developers and conduct high-quality code reviews.
