If you are the person who reads three sources when one would do, and cannot let a "because that's how it works in this industry" go unchecked — read on. Rohring Results is a US marketing agency running SEO, paid advertising, social and creative, content, and web development for clients across a range of industries. We are hiring a Strategy Manager to own client strategy across all of it — not one channel, and not one department. This is a research job with a strategy title. The work is finding out what is actually true about a market, a buyer, and a competitive set — and then deciding what a client should do about it. Everything our teams produce is downstream of that. When the research is good, the content, the ads, and the campaigns are good almost automatically. When it is shallow, everything after it is confidently wrong, and nobody notices for months. It is not a writing role. Our copywriters write. Your job is to know what should be said, to whom, and why. The AI part, honestly Every agency says it uses AI now. Here is what we actually mean by it, because it will be a large part of your day. Our teams draft with AI and refine what comes back — that part is normal, and it is not what this role is for. This role is the one that has to be genuinely good at getting real answers out of these tools rather than plausible ones. That is a skill, most people who claim it do not have it, and we intend to test for it. Concretely, you will: Frame research questions well enough to get non-generic answers. The difference between a useless output and a genuinely useful one is almost entirely in what you established before you asked Iterate rather than accept. A first answer is a starting point, not a result Know what the tool cannot know. Distinguishing between what a model has real grounding for and what it is generating because you asked for it is the core judgment of the job. Anyone can get an answer; you are being hired to know whether it is true Know when AI is the wrong instrument entirely — when the answer is in customer reviews, a forum, a sales call recording, or a conversation with the client, and no amount of prompting substitutes for it Turn what you find into something reusable. The research and reports you produce become the raw material other people's work is built from, so they have to be good enough to be trusted without re-checking If you have a working process for this and can talk about a time an AI output was wrong in a way that was not obvious — and how you caught it — you are the person we are looking for. If AI has mostly been a time-saver you have not had reason to check, this role will be a frustrating fit. What you'll own Strategy for every new client we take on — the direction, the reasoning, and the integration of several channels into one plan rather than several parallel ones The research underneath it: buyer and audience research, competitive analysis, brand positioning, industry context, and audience research for paid campaigns. Some you will run yourself; some you will build on from our specialists without quietly rebuilding their work Brand foundations for clients who have none. Most clients arrive with no guidelines and have never articulated how they sound or what makes them different. You build that with them from a blank page — voice, positioning, differentiation — and our writers and designers work from it directly Approval on creative and content before it reaches the client. Real authority, and the harder half of it: telling people whose work is finished that it is not right, in a way they can act on Campaign direction for email — audience, offer, angle, sequence. Our copywriter writes it; you brief it and approve the draft Client performance reports — you produce them using AI tooling, then read them critically and decide whether the story they tell is the real one A standing research practice. Protected hours every week for research not tied to any single client, with nobody waiting on the output. This is a real part of the job, not a stated perk we quietly cancel when things get busy — but it only produces value if you are the kind of person who makes unstructured time productive What we're looking for Multi-channel strategy experience. You have set direction across at least SEO, paid, and social — not specialised in one and coordinated the rest Research you did yourself. Personas, competitive analyses, brand positioning you built rather than commissioned. We will ask you to walk through one in real detail, so bring a real one Genuine curiosity. The strongest signal we can get in an interview is a candidate who has gone deep on something nobody asked them to. It does not have to be marketing Real fluency with AI as an instrument, not a shortcut — see above. We will assess this live Comfort giving direct, actionable rejections to people who do not report to you Self-direction. Much of this role has no deadline attached to it, which is exactly why it is valuable and exactly why it is easy to let slide Strong written English and comfort working with US-based clients and colleagues Nice to have. Agency-side experience. Hands-on Meta and Google Ads audience and targeting work. Familiarity with Google Search Console, GA4, and SEO platform data. Experience writing a method down clearly enough that someone else could run it. A few honest things This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports and real authority — work does not reach clients without your approval. We are a growing company, which means some of how we work is newer than we would like and part of this job is helping shape it rather than inheriting it finished. Our delivery team works Philippine hours and we run daily stand-ups on that schedule; [some client-facing meetings fall in US hours — we will be specific about which in the first conversation]. How To Apply . [Application instructions.] Along with your CV, send us two short paragraphs: A research question you answered well — what you were trying to find out, how you went about it, and how you knew the answer was good. A time an AI tool told you something wrong in a way that was not obvious, and how you caught it. We read these first. They tell us far more than a cover letter does.
