About The Role We're looking for a Senior Data Platform Architect to lead the design and evolution of our organization's data ecosystem. This role is responsible for building scalable database solutions that support both business applications and enterprise reporting. You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, and business stakeholders to establish data architecture standards, optimize performance, and ensure data remains accurate, secure, and accessible as the organization grows. What You'll Do Design and maintain scalable database architectures for business-critical applications. Develop logical and physical data models that support both transactional systems and analytics. Build and optimize data warehouse solutions using Snowflake or similar cloud platforms. Define database standards, naming conventions, and modeling best practices across the organization. Review database changes to ensure long-term scalability, consistency, and maintainability. Improve database performance through indexing strategies, query optimization, and efficient schema design. Monitor system health and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks. Establish governance standards that promote data quality, integrity, and reliability. Design solutions that support high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity. Collaborate with software engineers to ensure databases align with application architecture. Partner with Product and Business teams to translate business processes into efficient data structures. Support reporting and analytics initiatives by creating optimized data models. Maintain clear technical documentation for database architecture, schemas, and data flows. Provide technical guidance on database design and data-related best practices across development teams. Qualifications Required 5-10 years of experience in database architecture, database engineering, or data platform development. Strong experience with relational database systems such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies. Hands-on experience designing and managing Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouse platforms. Strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling. Experience improving database performance and scalability in production environments. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams. Preferred Experience developing ETL or ELT pipelines. Knowledge of AWS database services such as Amazon RDS or Aurora. Experience with data governance, lineage, auditing, and security best practices. Background working in compliance-driven or highly regulated industries.
